Refer to page 114-115 of this thread for the solution.

Basically you will need to replace a system app by copy pasting and overwriting.

Here's the flow:
1. Download htcsoundsetmanager.apk (link courtesy of @teh_master).
2. Use ES File Explorer, go to settings and make sure "Root Explorer" and "Mount File System" is ticked, then exit settings.
3. Copy the downloaded htcsoundsetmanager.apk and paste it in system/app, confirm to overwrite existing folder and merge.
4. Reboot phone and you're done.

For those of you experiencing Sense force close on reboot, make sure all your applications are moved to internal phone storage:

1. Go to Settings,Applications,SD Card
2. Untick applications that have a tick, you will go into a sub menu, select "Move to Phone"

Note: I noticed not all apps in SD card will cause this issue, only certain apps. But to be safe just move everything to internal phone memory. Another possible fix I found in XDA is to reboot to recovery and "Fix Permissions", give it a try as well.

Try the install again.

Just install Titanium Backup after that and if it launches without giving you a warning you're rooted.

Allright thanks Azel!

Currently i havnt try to install it again tho, but i got the icon "superuser" or is it an app?

So does dat mean im rooted or i need tp try install it again until no error message?

i think you need to get yourself a class 10 memory card to play HD movie smoothly, class 10 memory card for better read and write speed.

i very happy with my battery life since flash to leedroid V6.0.0-ICS, but seem the battery reading sometime will go crazy even though i did battery calibration after first flash.

I tried playing one mkv 720p, abit jerky, avi runs fine though, was using mx video player so not sure if that's the cause.

Hmm, you have the superuser app already, just try the install again, for me last time it also failed a few times before success, it was stated in the guide isn't it?, I can't remember.

Thanks! i tried to install it again and this time is a success biggrin.gif

Do I need the ADB step? as some say it is not needed ?

also, if I want to install custom ROM, it is said that I need to wipe my phone first. Does this means I will loose all infos on my phone including the contacts?

but now I'm stuck at this ADB step

5. Ensure your phone is switched on (regular home screen) and connect it by USB in charging mode (Ensure usb debugging is on settings)  <<<< my phone is connected and in charging mode, but I am not sure how to turn on USB debugging, I've looked through my phone's > settings, but find nothing on USB debugging. Can you point me to which direction I need to look?
6. enter the command "adb devices". This is to confirm your phone is connected. (It should come back with list of devices attached and your serial number)  <<< Since I can't pass stage 5, I guess my device serial number won't show...
Oh wait, do I need this step? as some say it is not needed ?

if you're using gingerbread rom, you'll see usb debugging option under setting>application>development. for ice cream sandwich rom, it is under setting>develop option

i believe you're trying to superCID your phone with above steps. that is required in order for you to flash different RUU.

in order to get adb commands working, make sure you install htc usb driver in your pc.

Thanks for your answer! what does "flash different RUU" means? Do I really need that?

RUU = rom update utility. normally it is released based on carrier / telco. ie in order for our Asean set to flash US T-Mobile RUU, we need to superCID our phone otherwise it will not work due to different CID (Carrier ID) and MID (Model ID)

if you're only planning to flash gingerbread custom rom, you can skip superCID step.

if you're planning to flash ice cream sandwich custom rom, superCID is required (but optional if you go for an alternative) in order to upgrading the firmware to boot latest ice cream sandwich (3.24/3.25 based)

once you've achieved root access, please backup your stock rom in recovery (this will backup everything, you user data and system data) prior flashing any custom rom of your choice. flashing of any rom (after full wipe) will wipe all the user data / app / contact but your data stores in SD Card is remain untouched.

for flash-holic, you're encouraged to sync your contact to google account or export your contact to your SD Card for easier contact restoring.

Noted! and Thanks! again...

so, say I've done the backup of my stock rom, and finished installing the new ROM (trying out the android revolution HD). I will loose my datas caused by the swiping right? So, can I recover the datas from the CWM backup done previously, but keeping the "Revolution HD" ROM? <<< nevermind this, the contacts are not lost...

but, the apps are gone, do I need to download it again from the market? or I can just somehow re-install it from the SDcard? <<< actually nevermind this as well... it is somehow downloading and installing on its own xD

thank you all of the Sensation community for helping a n00b thus far! appreciate it!

and will try some other cool stuffs with this awesome phone!

Hi Bro,

When moving to a new rom, I suggest to do a superwipe & clean install rather than restoring from Titanium backup as this might screw up the rom. Unless you are upgrading from the same base version e.g 6.2.1 to 6.2.2

For contacts backup, I suggest you use your google mail contact and sync them. This is the best approach if you are a ROM jumper like me. smile.gif

Yup, I am ARHD 6.2.1 with Sense 3.6 and Beats Audio. Awesome! hahaha, only known issue is with Viber.

p/s: Viber has issues with all ICS. They say that they will get this fixed by mid Feb.

Have you turned off "Enable Always On Mobile Data"?, that options kills my battery in no time and I do not see any adverse effects from turning it off. If you did turn it off than I'm surprised, because the battery has been way better since I upgraded to ICS 4.0.3, my standby drain is almost negligible, and I always reboot my phone to make sure the voltages are reported properly.

*
Nope, no need at all. Root explorers are just called that, nothing to do whatsoever with root.

Sarcasm aside, YOU NEED ROOT. Since you're quoting my explanation on solving custom ROM issues, which requires rooting in itself, I'm not sure why are you even asking this >_<...no offence, just curious.

Yes you can, there is a fully detailed guide on XDA HTC Sensation Android Development Forum Section for doing exactly that. Just follow instructions and never, I repeat, never skip steps or deviate from the instructions.

For most users, having your pc/laptop ADB enabled is not necessary, but it's helpful at times when you can't access your phone and want to do something to it via ADB commands. But that of course requires much reading and familiarising yourself with the ADB commands etc. If you are referring to USB debugging, yes you need it enabled, in fact, I don't see why you wouldn't want it enabled, since it has no adverse effects whatsoever.

Superwipe of Fullwipe will format your phone's INTERNAL MEMORY, yes you will lose all contact data, but if it's backed up to your Google contacts then it shouldn't be a problem....for first time back up to google, login your gmail and go to contacts and double check that all your contacts are there, if all are there, then no more worries.

If you're still doubtful, you can export your contacts information to SDcard as well, just go to phone>people>click settings key>export/import.

It's Ice Cream, there's nothing bad about Ice Cream right?, hahahaha

for me, at stock kernel running at 1.18GHZ, the phone feels incredibly smooth, or at least as smooth as GB ROM (if not smoother), the operations on certain areas seems to be faster and more responsive as well.
