QUOTE(azomic @ Oct 13 2011, 09:59 AM) Guys, really glad if you guys could help me out. See my replies above and do spend time reading my post #5 on rom flashing etci got my SII GT-I9100G i want to root my phone.only rooting.had some research and i am soo confuse. my baseband is I9100GDZKI1 i have downloaded odinv1.85(plan to root using odin) i have to download kernel with DZKI1 code rite? here are few i have found. GT-I9100G_DZKI1_insecure You use this to root your phone - it is a unsecured kernel XME DZKI1 This is the ROM file - you use it to flash only this rom if you need it ; since your phone rom is same - so don't touch it. You can download it for future use in case after flash to a new rom, you wish to go back to it what is the different between both of insecure and xme? You use insecure kernel to root phone. As explain above, the XME is a rom and what is stock kernel is use for? and found this on lowyat. You use stock kernel to remove the yellow traingle after you flash any custom rom repair brick 9100G what is the guy talking about?why the file is so big?? His is the rom file- download from XDA Intratech link which is same as above and i do notice on post no 5, there is provided kernel for G phone, is it the same? hopefully can teach me step by step as i am not an IT person but i like to customize it. thanks guys -------------------------------- one more question.what is CWM or SU? CWM is clockworkmod recovery - read page 1 post #5 where I explain it and difference with stock recovery SU is Superuser an app that will result when you have root your phone. This app allows you to access and make changes by you or other apps to system files This post has been edited by benny888: Oct 13 2011, 10:31 AM |

Anybody has ANY idea what this port does?
![]() @prescott: yeah the pink spot still there. It's not as serious as you may think though. Blergh, people make so much fuss over the pink spot, the yellow display and the heat - the iPhone 4 has similar problems also people just stay quiet (green spot in cam, yellow display, overheating)? Maybe Android users are slightly more... uhm... attentive lol. This post has been edited by Eiraku: Oct 13 2011, 10:31 AM |

QUOTE(Eiraku @ Oct 13 2011, 10:29 AM) Anybody has ANY idea what this port does? Well, many users are looking at a perfect phone. Yes I do agree with you these are minor issues as it does not affect the phone's performance. Maybe the pinkish spot on camera will bother some users who used to take shots against a white background![]() @prescott: yeah the pink spot still there. It's not as serious as you may think though. Maybe Android users are slightly more... uhm... attentive lol. the yellowish display I'd say is a non issue as most of the time one has to LOOK for it to see it - anyway can always ask to exchange anew set if it disturbs you. I have seen this on my friend 's phone and saw several photo shots of such and frankly I don't deem it to be of any issue at all Overheating - is a wrong term ; there is never any overheating . If you are use to 1 Ghz and above Amndroid phones, the "hotness" will not be any issue. You get used to it after few days - the hottest I ever have is about 50 degree centigrade while on charge in car using GPS. Symbian and Blackberry users will feel the heat more as they come from a cooler phones. Even the iPhone 4 gets hot too but as the SGS II is very thin the heat transfer is more obvious only. Even on my latest htc Sensation, though is thicker I also can still feel the heat And talking about the htc Sensation, I'd say if anyone is thinking of changing to it, I'd just say stick to the SGS II which is a much better phone in many aspects |

QUOTE(TheLaptopDudeGuy @ Oct 13 2011, 10:47 AM) I won't say it isn't good. I'd say it falls short compared to the SGS II in many areas. Put it this way, I feel better using the SGS II as it is way very much smoother , performs better - in browsing, email downloads, RSS, tweeter feedsIt is difficult to say in words ; anyway is my opinion. It is similar to the feeling that all the while you are driving a 2500 cc car and now has to switch to a 2000 cc car I am still using the Sensation on its official stock rom 2.3.4. Well I would try some of the cook roms which reportedly offers better smoothness and performance. On stock rom, the SGS II is much better. The Sensation also gets equally "hot" and battery usage is quite similar too |
