Texas Instruments OMAP is the SOC (aka processor, though this definition is actually wrong, both socs use Cortex A9 procs) on the i9100G lar. The Original i9100 uses Samsung's own Exynos SOC.

It is not an app.

@Lineage: No. UC will STILL be benificial though as it lessens heat generated. Plus, I haven't found any app or game that ACTUALLY needs the procs to run so fast.

I run 1000-200 and nothing lags pun.

I was interested in your theory and I've tested out the underclock. Indeed, nothing seems to be a problem and it does seem like it works 100% well while underclocked at 200-1000. Although it does score significantly lower in the quadrant benchmarks, but real-time usage I'd dare say has 0 difference.

However, I'd also say if there is 0 difference in performance, then isn't it also nearly 0 difference in terms of battery saving? It is 200MHz... I don't think it makes that huge of a difference. I'm still testing out the battery longevity with this 1000MHz, if there isn't a difference, I'll just bump it back up to 1200MHz then.

----------------------

Anyone here using GO SMS? If there are, how come the most recent update reverted back the notification sound to overwrite the GO SMS tone? Just one update before, the Go SMS tone is played when an SMS is received.... (notably, only the last 2 updates it was like that, before that, the previous versions also could not have GO SMS tones overwrite the default notifications tone)...

... How do we get the GO SMS tone to override the default notifications tone? Cause i'd really prefer my SMS tones to differ from other notifications.

Cheers

edit: Oops... looks like it's only showing problems with the PRIVATE INBOX having the default notifications instead of the GO SMS tone.. in the inbox of other contacts, it's acting normally.

Android Black Market = piracy.

no piracy talk here.

A "Black" market. Lol.

And yes, I'm still running the old market out of sheer speed and effeciency. Unless ICS can make the "New" market as quick as the old one, that is.

@Malaikat Gelap: Can you observe the same heat-related advantages while UCed though? I still think the SGS2 runs cooler noticeably at 1ghz max.

No cannot. That is the only feature not included. The app does not run in background / startup.

But if u use siyah kernel governors such as ondemandx, smartassv2, lagfree etc. already got sleep setting so profile is not needed.

Thanks...
One more question.
I noticed that you are using I/O Scheduler = VR.
What is the different if compare with SIO ?
Mine is SIO.

Read about the different i/o here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1242323

You can also test it by changing i/o with voltage control or no frills.

Seriously why you want to watch 1080p youtube on SGS2?
I can't even tell the difference of 720p and 1080p on a Full HD 32" inch TV, it is really overkill to watch it on 4.3" screen.

By lagging you mean the video stutter or your connection lag?
*
Nope my connection is not lagging. The connection already finish loading by 30 second. Yes i can tell the difference is its 720p or 1080p even on a 4.3" thats why i notice its not in hd.

dear galaxians,
I tried to read this thread finding answers to my video recording framerate woes, but this thread is 2F2F! haha

anyway, i am requesting helpful forumers here to test your video recording @ 1080p.

1) Go to a room dimly lit, like your office.
2) Flick your GS2 to video @ 1080p.
3) start recording.
4) Pan left and right, slowly and quickly
5) Playback and check if any framerate drop; like lag, stutters..
6) Report back.

In the xda forums, many has complained but no permanent fix yet. It's a bit disappointing knowing S2 being high-end device suffers from such low fps when recording.

Hope most of you can report your findings. Thanks all!

Cover looks like my momax, ugly. Prefer the Spiderfoot/Mugen style cover myself.

Well, someone's gotta benchmark these as well. I'm thinking 2400mah like the rest of the OEMs but, who knows?

If price is good will order one to test.
