@BRY7,
I don't think we need any congratulatory post each time a topic is open tongue.gif

Also, I don't think it's very necessary to have the link of the Apple Online Store in Post #1 but if @stringfellow wants to include it in, I've no problems. The thing is - I don't see Y people just can't google it - it's not like the Apple Online Store link is hidden, right? tongue.gif

I sold off my 2010 MBA ( 1.4 ghz 11") for the latest MBA 13.3 " ( 1.8 Ghz, 256 GB) and is unhappy with it
The bootup and shutdown of the new MBA was slower by at least 7-8 secs and I could feel the heat on the front pad just after half hour of use. The heat was absent in the older MBA even with few hours of usage
Only significant improvement was the speed in copy of files
maybe it is LION - I find that the opening of programs is also slower

Au contraire, I have pleasurable experience with my current 2011 11" MBA 1.8Ghz 256GB flash storage. Agree, Lion doesn't instant on anymore (not advertised as such anymore for MBA, compared to during the Snow Leopard MBA), but the app opening and execution is faster, no heat whatsoever, and file transfer via File Sharing and Airdrop went without a hitch. Trust me, I took the file transferring to the point of abuse already, with transferring GBs of TV shows for iTunes and Plex between the MBA and the Mini, and it went blissfully smooth.

I guess to each, his own.

That's unusual, the main positive point in reviews I read worldwide is how fast the MacAir is. And mine is blazing fast, though maybe your definition of fast is different than mine.

TS, found something you typed wrongly.
MBP 2.7Ghz Core i5, its actually Core i7
and MBA don't have 8GB ram option.
only 2GB/4GB

Bro Stringfellow,

Yes have attempted the verify/repair disk permission and it's better.

but after doing so,from time to time i will need to turn the airport off and back on, otherwise my wifi/internet cannot work! sad.gif
is it that my airport is having problems?

Interference from your neighbor's WiFi? Try switching to difference channels on your WiFi router and see if that fixes it.

Is it necessary to apply a screen protector onto the MacBook Air?

Came across with the iVisor Air anti-glare screen protector by moshi.

if you're worried about it getting scratches, don't worry it won't happen.
but if you find the glossy screen annoying, keeps on seeing reflection of yourself on the screen.
then get the antiglare one

I've got the urge to change my 2010 MBA to the 2011 MBA. Flash storage temptation. Lol. I've been thinking, should I or not? Any recommendations?

Yes. Lol. I only realized what I wrote after refreshing. My mistake. Apologies.

And yes, I'm still thinking of changing my MBA as I'm using the 11" MBA. Was looking at the 13" MBA and was shocked to the price. Any big changes to it? Or should I just get a MBP instead?
