QUOTE(sykz @ Apr 18 2015, 11:15 PM) Thanks for your reply. Assuming the 500 ringgit incentive from government doesn't count as well? Will pump in more to max the tax relief. Cheers Yupp. The government tax incentive of RM500 is not included. Therefore, to max your tax relief, you'll still need to pump in RM3k per year. |

PRS is just a supplement to your EPF. It's like unit trust in the disguise of EPF. |

In order for an asset management company to do a PRS business, they need to adhere very strict regulations and policies hence the reason you don't see all asset management/insurance company doing it. Nevertheless, it does carry investment risk similar to unit trust. In the long run, PRS are most likely to give our better returns than ASB, so if you are still quite far away from retirement, just go with PRS especially if you want the tax deduction and youth incentive. If you're like 5 years away from reaching 55 years old, better just put your money in ASB. Best thing I've heard from a client was that PRS invest in 1MDB which was told to her by an MDRT insurance agent. If you have time, read the prospectus of a PRS fund, at least you'll have a better idea of how PRS works. |

I am toying with the idea to save (invest?) in a PRS fund - mainly for the tax incentive, a couple of years missed d but better late than never.
I cant find a site or blog etc that allows me to compare btw the different PRS providers and how they had been doing over the past few years since launch. Can someone share a link? I already invest in PM so not considering that for PRS and someone mentioned Affin is one of the better ones. Not sure why she said so though. How did you guys decide which PRS fund management comp to go with. thanks. |
