Any idea how the interest being calculate.

I invest in PRS for 9 year. But the total interest earn is only 7% for the whole 9 year period. Mean every year interest earn less than 1%. How about others?

1) PRS do not earn interest. If you put in fixed deposit, it earns interest. For investment fund like PRS, we use "returns" to describe.

2) returns for PRS are not guaranteed. It can be negative. So yes in theory, what you have stated can happen.

If you want to know how other funds are doing, this information is something you can google.

My own investment is sort of ok, returning 4% to 6% p.a. depending on the fluctuations. Abit volatile.

Can anyone share how is your return? Exclude income tax saving.

Years saving => ?
Total return => ( Closing Amt / Total saving Money ) %

mine quite okay
1) Affin Hwang since Nov 2013 got 40.8%

2) Principal Asia Pac since Dec 2017 got 24.2%

3) Principal Retireeasy since Nov 2023 already 12.99% in 3 months.

it is simple just buy the above PRS wait and see

lucky no loss... you should count your lucky stars

Why not show the name of the poor performing fund so people can avoid it.

You can stop contributing anytime you wish, most did it because of the Income tax deduction of RM3k. And you can withdraw anytime too but with a penalty (8%).
As for withdrawal without penalty, i think you can do that upon reaching 55

Maybank already stop PRS. Perhaps due to poor perform of etiqa fund manager.

Btw, Etiqa 69% owned by Maybank.

Ops. I double confirm again. My 2023 ending balance become 96% of my total saving amt. Mean the return -4% for 10 year total saving.

Maybank is not a listed PRS providers.

Perhaps they are just resellers or just distributors.
Of PRS funds

https://www.ppa.my/prs-providers/

Perhaps they stopped selling due to not much people buying or some PRS providers or distributors are selling with 0% sales charge too

I think it was Maybank deferred annuity plan that you are actually refering to, ...

Yours is not PRS. Deferred annuity. My guess

Different item. DA is meant for holding long term. And you get a fixed amount yearly later

That is a deferred annuity plan.
Part of your contribution had been used to pay for annual insurance coverage.

There was an old thread in lyn too

ILP < PRS < unit trust < equity

At the end of the chain, it's equity that drives growth. Thus go direct to Equity for best returns

ILP are unit trust. The reason ILP is not performing well is majority of ILP are invested in Malaysia market and china market. Both these market have been giving rubbish returns for years.

China because of emperor xi common prosperity and property issue.
