seagate provides 5 years and WD provides 3 years warranty...is it very important the warranty??or most HDD last more than 5 years??

yeah the warranty is important. you'll never know when you need it. sometimes the hdd might last longer than 5 years, sometimes for some reason it might go KO within the warranty period. just to be safe. biggrin.gif

why warranty important?
my fren rma xternal hdsk 4 times within a year.sweat.gif
he bought 60Gb at 1st ,but at last time rma he got 80Gb.

please describe more how is the noise... HDD produce noise when loading is quite normal... but if idle also noisy then something wrong with it... smile.gif

i use maxtor, samsung, seagate before. Maxtor gone after 2 years, seagate gone after 3 years, but samsung still performe after 3 years..

but i think seagate perform better..

Not normal. I had one 80gb Maxtor many years ago. Got very noisy and few days later, the HDD is dead. Will never buy Maxtor or anything associates to that brand, such as Seagate. WD FTW! laugh.gif
