Would it creep into mobiles by next year? Samsung is going to incorporate that mean little power house chip, right?

user posted image

Excerpt: The chip, called Epiphany-IV, won’t replace your phone’s main SoC, but would allow that chip to offload processing requests to it. Just as a normal multi-core SoC can activate additional cores on-demand, a phone using an Epiphany-IV could pass it tasks to tackle on an as-needed basis. All those 64 cores can run at up to 800MHz, resulting in the raw number-crunching power of about 45 Apple A5 chips.

i dont think it will be on our smartpones in the near future. even in the pc world, after 10 years since the intro of dual core pc in consumer products, until now the latest only used 8core.

It's the same like football match. If the player is down injured., the opponent player should kick the ball out as a gesture of sportsmanship and also it will give time for the medic team to see the down player.
As a rule of thumb, we don't go kicking the ball into the down player head somemore. That's rude especially if the injured player is an important one like the goalkeeper.

SGS2 if you want to get a phone now. Its my first smartphone to and I'm loving it but make sure to get the i9100 model. i9100G don't have any custom rom yet. Get SGN if you like big screen and get nexus prime if you're willing to wait and have the funds for it. good luck choosing icon_rolleyes.gif

Yup. Because kernel control the cpu and will be different. Rom wise I am not sure but I guess no one would want to risk trying i9100 rom but with i9100g kernel.
