maybe they are preparing for nexus prime?..try go to maxis center and asked..might not be at their website, doesnt mean they dont sell at maxis center..last time i want to buy htc desire, they took out from website, but still selling at maxis center..

CPU and GPU different for both variants. preferably I9100 if based on benchmarking. none has posted user experiences.

Yup. Because kernel control the cpu and will be different. Rom wise I am not sure but I guess no one would want to risk trying i9100 rom but with i9100g kernel.

There is two ways to check the difference
1) It be printed at the phone box either I9100 or I9100G
2) through setting > about phone > model number

how long can u tahan wait? haha ~~ new phone keep coming out one~~ if u feel u like sgs2 , then go ahead , if u want wait nexus prime ~~ then wait lo~~

All phones won't last too long when it comes to being the flagship phone or being the best phone there is. The life cycle of phones being that is getting faster and a shorter... one year I more than you can ask for before some fella comes up with something that completely blows the previous generations away...

I think what kazama82 meant is SGSII can be use up to 4 - 5 years which is correct if you take care of you phone. Though it sure won't be top phone anymore but who's cares. As long as Nexus Prime firmware can get updates means so can SGSII since both nearly the same spec. Only the hd screen is different. Better keep your finger crossed ~~lol~~

I mean the basic spec like both have dual-cores. That's why CM7 have problem ported Nexus S into SGSII perfectly as one is single core and another is dual-core.

The original Samsung Galaxy S II GT-I9100 is using Samsung own Exynos 4210 SoC CPU and ARM Mali-400 GPU. On the other hand, GT-I9100G uses Texas Instruments OMAP4430 CPU and PowerVR SGX540 GPU. Both of the CPU is running at 1.2 GHz based on dual core ARM Cortex-A9. Not sure the exact CPU performance difference. However, the PowerVR SGX540 (which was used in previous generation Galaxy S) is much slower than ARM Mali-400. And can’t enable Anti-Aliasing (4xAA and 16xAA) with Chainfire3D Pro.

Dunno how many times ppl ask this question(at least 50+ times) anyways,if u want better game support and heat dissipation,then new(g) model,but has no custom roms or kernels to play with. Old one has a marginally more powerful proc n gpu,and has many custom roms n kernels to flash.

haha i not intrested in nexus prime lehh. i think difference not much pun. correct me if im wrong but imho galaxy s2 is like ipong 4 and nexus is like the 4S. no major differences between s2 and prime. but i got a liking for the sensation XL's big ass screen. haha
