QUOTE(yehlai @ Oct 8 2011, 11:23 AM) SGN SAMOLED HD + higher resolution. its actually about the same size of our SGS2. only it takes of the physical button area for that 0.35". buat galaxy note is BIG.Just that too bulky for me. Don't feel like it's a phone, more like small tablet. Gonna wait until local sets and see how. Not interested to go for AP sets for now. QUOTE(lolz1120 @ Oct 8 2011, 11:09 AM) Sorry if I sound stupid to ask this, but is it fine to charge your phone at night and leave it on till morning? Been doing so from the day I purchased the phone. These days, the charger and the battery are smart enough to have its' own "way of working". It's pretty much so for an auto that uses caburetor or fuel injection. Time has changed and so do technology. I always charge around 12 and only unplug in the morning, afaik there's a smart circuit that cuts of the current when battery is fully charged? QUOTE(Dark_Angel85 @ Oct 8 2011, 11:11 AM) Dear girlfriend dropped my phone... It's a bloody RM2,000 piece of smartphone. Well, you could forgive her reaction. At least she cared which is a good thing.Small scratch At the bottom right of the chrome lining of the phone. She looked so scared... Hahaha... I was just OK but she looked so freaked out. I was just checking if the phone was still fine but she looked more worried than me. Dear dear.. Added on October 8, 2011, 12:49 pm QUOTE(soulseeker6187 @ Oct 8 2011, 11:56 AM) i always leave my desire charge overnite since last year, now still ok. no problem to charge overnite coz it have auto-cut circuit. Most mobile phone chargers are not really chargers, only power adapters that provide a power source for the charging circuitry which is almost always contained within the mobile phone.[15] They are notoriously diverse, having a wide variety of DC connector-styles and voltages, most of which are not compatible with other manufacturers' phones or even different models of phones from a single manufacturer.Users of publicly accessible charging kiosks must be able to cross-reference connectors with device brands/models and individual charge parameters and thus ensure delivery of the correct charge for their mobile device. A database-driven system is one solution, and is being incorporated into some designs of charging kiosks. Mobile phones can usually accept a relatively wide range of voltages[citation needed], as long as it is sufficiently above the phone battery's voltage. However, if the voltage is too high, it can damage the phone. Mostly, the voltage is 5 volts or slightly higher, but it can sometimes vary up to 12 volts when the power source is not loaded. There are also human-powered chargers sold on the market, which typically consists of a dynamo powered by a hand crank and extension cords. There are also solar chargers. China and other countries are making a national standard on mobile phone chargers using the USB standard.[16] in June 2009, 10 of the world's largest mobile phone manufacturers signed a Memorandum of Understanding to develop specifications for and support a microUSB-equipped common External Power Supply (EPS) for all data-enabled mobile phones sold in the EU.[17][18] On October 22, 2009, the International Telecommunication Union announced a standard for a universal charger for mobile handsets (Micro-USB).[19] Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battery_charger This post has been edited by Joey Christensen: Oct 8 2011, 12:49 PM |

QUOTE(myboo_1988 @ Oct 8 2011, 01:03 PM) im thinking to get this phone but should i wait for samsung nexus prime? The design for Nexus Prime is also different. If I'm not mistaken, the SGS2 back is flatbed while the Nexus Prime is curvaceous just like the Son Ericsson Arc. I could be wrong here. In addition, I believe the NiCd "memory" issue still plaguing us until today...However, our SGS2 is not utilising NiCd as it's battery. It uses Lithium-Ion type battery, right? Lithium-Ion: Lithium seems an ideal material for a battery: it is the lightest metal in addition to having the highest electric potential of all metals. Unfortunately, lithium is an unstable metal, so batteries that use lithium must be made using lithium ions (such as lithium-thionyl chloride). Even so, dangers persist with lithium-ion batteries. Many of the inorganic components of the battery and its casing are destroyed by the lithium ions and, on contact with water, lithium will react to create hydrogen which can ignite or can create excess pressure in the cell. If the lithium melts (melting point is 180 C), it may come into direct contact with the cathode, causing violent chemical reactions. As a consequence, lithium batteries are often limited to small sizes. Portable devices, such as notebook computers, smart cards, and cellular telephones, are often powered by lithium ion batteries. These batteries have no memory effect and do not use poisonous metals, such as lead, mercury or cadmium. It could be the agreed packages that they are offering. From sole proprietary outlets to authorised Samsung dealers to whatever there is out there. Mine has 18-month warranty. What I last heard from SenQ/Seng Heng, they are giving away 36-month warranty (1 year from Samsung, 2 years from SenQ/Seng Heng). I was told the salesperson that even though the warranty stretches from one year to three years, it could be services warranty given and not the product warranty. Well, you know how those terms and conditions work, right? This post has been edited by Joey Christensen: Oct 8 2011, 01:19 PM |

QUOTE(shazzmania @ Oct 8 2011, 01:19 PM) you sure there are still phones using NiCd? Hmmm...technology will exist and would be brought forward from year to year (given the fact that they are not thrown or buried at the waste land). We are welcoming the age of light-ness and Lithium-Ion is the answer. With weight being an issue to be taken into account, it wouldn't be of a surprise that good bye to NiCd and welcome to Litium-Ion batteries. Besides smartphone or whatever mobile there is in the market, NiCd batteries are still out there in the market. A tip for SGS2 user: Scroll the notification bar and press whatever there is for USB connection. I tried a few times earlier but couldn't get it connected even though under SETTINGS>APPLICATIONS>DEVELOPMENT. I left out what's being posted at the front/first page (by benny888) that you need to press, erm..."USB Connect" to complete the plug and play. By the way, my PlayStation®3 can detect my SGS2. There's another forummer that said his SGS2 could be detected on his XBox 360 also. So, there you have it, the two confirmed consoles that the SGS2 could be plugged in to perform some video, photograph transfers. This post has been edited by Joey Christensen: Oct 8 2011, 01:29 PM |

What we are looking in the future? 28nm 64-Core Epiphany-IV microprocessor chip?
Adapteva, a privately-held semiconductor technology start up, today announced the release of the fourth generation of its Epiphany multicore architecture IP – a 28nm design with 64 independent high-performance RISC cores on a single chip. The latest generation of the Epiphany architecture offers the highest energy efficiency of any floating point processor solution to date, with a ground-breaking 70 GFLOPS/Watt.
