how do you choose the correct drill bit size for wall plugs? should choose 2mm smaller drill bit?

i tend to drill too big for the long wall plugs+screw set used to hang wall cabinets.

Just measure the diameter of the wall plug. When you buy the wall plug, it have label show what is the diameter. Or ask the shop bos.

When do the drilling, hold the drill straight as possible. Don't swing 360deg as you will korek the hole bigger.

Is it possible to drill out an iron nail head and how do I do it safely?
I want to leave the rest of the nail in the wood.

If your nail is too small, that is difficult to drill it out. Can use a drill bit same diameter as the nail, grind flat the tip and knock the nail out.

Mostly I can drill a screw smaller size 2mm out. Than tap back the hole. For small pin, I use same size pin to knock it out.

I tried drilling earlier but the drill bit won't "eat" into the nail.
It just keeps spinning on the nail head top.
The nail diameter is about 4mm.

Is the nail head broken already? If haven't, use a nail puller to pull out.

If broken, the drill bit should be able to drill the nail a hole. Or you using concrete nail? Use smaller drill bit like 3mm and below. Which have sharper angle. Check your drill bit head got worn off or not.

Nail head is intact and is semi flush with the tv aerial bracket it's nailed into, so there is nothing much for the nail puller to grab hold of.
I can't pry bracket off without damaging the wood surface it's nailed to (there are six nails).
Drill bit is correct type and brand new.
The nail is thick and nailed into nearly 3" of wood on the roof.
I have thought of an angle grinder but don't have one.

Don't you hate it when they advertise something as costing RM4xx or RM6xx?
I immediately assume x = 9
I've never come across where x = low digits before.
What da ya think? The demolition hammer (RM9xx) sells for RM900???
Anyone?

Is the TD0101F at RM298 a good price?
