Personally, it's no longer worth it 2 buy the sleeving kits. U can get wht u really need by metres nowadays.

I was selling the Vantec's bout yr ago vry cheaply but then cost started to rocket

Btw, VIZO do manufacture Black color one . If u really want it, then can ask moderno

I am wondering, how do we estimate the size of sleeve need for a particular cable in the PSU?

And i am not sure where to ask this:

If i were to sleeve the cables that come out from my casing (front port cables, power/hdd led), what size and type of sleeve should i use?I intend to sleeve my GC cooler wire as well but it seems too thin to use normal sleeve...

For ATX, add ~5cm to the measured length while for rest ~3cm

Bout 2nd question, I use the 6mm ones. Somtimes doesnt really fit snugly but doesnt look cacat either.

hey guys, thanks for the good info. I am doing my sleeving currently, I have 2 questions for now:

1. For this kind of wire which route to another molex from PSU, since they are pair together. do I need to take them off/separate them? if so, how do we separate the same colour pair? it seems quite tight.

2. This one, I cant seems to open it. any tips?

the first one u could just sleeve through both bunch of wires then take out wires of the shorter side for another sleeving. hmm

A wires conenctor to PSU
B wires use to connect to HDD and etc.

Sleeve together both A and B, then take out the B again for the following sleeving job.

as for the second type of plug, it's very difficult and require lots of patience. there's guide at the front page.. hope u find it useful coz comes with photo, it's in the 4th post by courtesy of Uglyvamp.

Advanced, faster way get the PSU Connectors Removal Tool

Doom, thanks for the tips on sliding all the connected wire thru the sleeve or heatshrink. not an ez job man.. especially for short range wire between molex connector.

mADmAN, bombman, i had tried to slide 2 pin/staples/some small thingy to both side, but it doesnt seems to unlock the ATX head. my finger pain like hell trying this smile.gif

those removal is kinda expensive isn't? RM35 i saw at the shop the other day.
gonna try again later.

oh, by the way, 1 of my PSU fan doesn't move after i open the PSU to clean the dust inside. it only move when I spin it manually for once. why is it so? any idea how to overcome this?

Using 2 staples isn't going to work well because they are tiny and aren't strong enough.
So here's the method I used to remove the pins when sleeving. It was also in the tut. At first, it took a bit of time to get used to it. But after a few pins, it was like poke-turn-poke-turn.

A mini screwdriver... which comes in a box of 5 different sizes. (can easily get it from any hardware shop, pasar malam. Better qualities will be a few ringgit, and those cheapo ones... sometimes only RM1 or less.)

So the one I used was the smallest. The tip is about 1.5mm.

Then in this pic, you can see the tip of the screwdriver in the 4-pin
Attached Image

| - flat head screwdriver
[] - pin
What you gotta do is, insert the screwdriver beside the pin like this:

|[]
then... turn the screwdriver 90degrees to -[]

The screwdriver will push the wing inwards. Repeat same steps on the 2nd wing of the same pin, then you can remove it easily.
Remember to push out back the wings before inserting the pins back. Good luck.

PS: I saved RM35

hey pmmonkey, you got it right. the staple bullet just ain't strong enough for my stubborn 4pin ATX.

i will get the mini screwdriver later and try it out smile.gif
oh ya, I am out of heatshrink, coz 1st time doing it, not good in estimating the length.
I only manage to sleeve 1 bunch of wire, another 1 to go. but heat shrink only left 20%.
any idea what else can substitute this? without proper seal at the end of the sleeve, it will get torn out easily.

I suggest you get more heatshrink. Nothing else is as nice as that.
If it takes a long time to get your heatshrink and you wanna finish it up fast, pvc insulation tapes should be fine. can get it from hardware shop.

actually if u do alot of sleeveling then i would recomend u get the remover tool, invest abit, but can use long time, somemore u run teh risk of breaking the housing or teh pins, dangerouns,,.... but if on time only then its ok wan,... just be carefull.....

Remember practise makes it perfect. Whn I 1st saw that kind of technique tought 'll waste too much time but after a while it was so easy that currenly by usin' the staples I can remove the pins also as fast usin' the tool

Tip : Use the normal size staple instead bigger as mentioned in many sites. All da best

You should remove the head if that restrict you from insert the sleeve and heatshrink smoothly. If not you will probably end up with fugly torn sleeve.

I am in Penang, and I am also looking for sleeve or heatshrink by meter sad.gif

my PSU fan is not working, just now I go ask around a few shop, they dont have it and instead they suggest me to buy a normal casing fan and cut and connect the wire manually.
