When you swipe your Debit Card, does the charged amount gets deducted from your bank account directly ? Or waits for the transaction to be posted by merchant ?

If I swipe Debit Card for RM50, 15-min later the transaction is voided, I assume my account will still have RM50, right ?

i think his next question will be...

so if the transaction is voided later on, the money will be automatically refunded back into the debit card account? or need to claim back manually?

I have a question, CIMB send me a debit mastercard which I never request.

But I wonder does it work the same like Maybank Cherry card?

Ie : withdraw cash from ATM and use as debit card.

If it does, then I will activate and keep it and throw my atm card away.

No, did not charge me a single dime.
I remember I went to CIMB one day and ask a very beautiful CS if I can change my atm card coz already 6 years and sticker peeling off.
She told me will be charge with RM12 for replacing new one coz my current one still can be use even though already so bad condition.
I say no thanks, will keep using till cant be use anymore.

Didn't know one week later, This debit mastercard arrive in my mailbox.

a very beautiful cs with a very beautiful heart too. brows.gif

if you replace at the branch, rm12 will be charged once you receive the new debit card. not sure if it is waived (since you did not request for it) and they sent you by post, or will they only charge you once you activate it?

haha no idea... I checked my CIMB click and confirmed did not charged a single sen.
I have not activated my debit mastercard yet coz it has a reputation like a kwik card where I need to put money in first before I can use it, and it cannot use as atm card.

Hence, asking the question at here.

While I was checking my accounts this morning, noted that the savings account amount linked to my debit card reduced, went in and check under debit card history, a total of 7 online transactions that wasn't done by me. 5 pre auth transaction, with 3 reverse auth and 3 more online transactions. Reported it to the CS, got my card suspended. Have to go to the bank tmrw to get a new replacement and CS told me that the dispute will take 6-8 weeks to resolve.

I'm using Hybrid Platinum... been enjoying rebate 1.5% for purchase using my Platinum debit card... it inlude online transaction too... as long as using the card... but Hybrid account transactions (purchase telco reload via Allianceonline) or E-Debit (swipe card using pin number) not entitle for the 1.5% rebate... the rebate will be reflect in the statement at every last day of each month... drool.gif
