Official Dark Souls Thread
This thread is NOT to be confused with Demon's Souls as Dark Souls is the sequel to it.
Also, this thread serves as the remake of the previous thread as the TS is dead.

How to Co-op with a friend
Requirements:
1) Host player Alive to see white summon signs, 2nd player can be alive too or dead
2) Host can't see white summon sign if he completed Area Boss (Boss in that area) *note can swap roles and become the second player and help him clear bosses if he wants to*
3) Host and 2nd player cannot be approx 10% levels apart e.g. if a player is level 20, he can only help/party with others near his level, about 18-23
How to do it:
1) Host and 2nd player standing near each other (doesn't matter if your seeing different orange/red messages around you)
2) 2nd player spams his white summon crystal until it appears on the Host's screen (what it is doing, second player is placing a summon symbol on a random server each time and when he is lucky it will appear on the same server as the Host)
* note the summon sign will appear INSTANTANEOUSLY good ping!!! (i was amazed that it appeared the second i press x on place sign)! so just keep spamming the summon white crystal until it works and be careful to not rub off the sign afterwards when it appears on the other players screen otherwise you would need to redo and keep spamming it again*

Those who want to try coop should try this, seems quite viable.
Confirmed above method works flawlessly, saw someone trying it in a stream for < 10 minutes

thought I found a better deal as R2 CE's OST is in physical disc instead of a DLC for the R1 CE. The price for R2 CE is cheaper too
