guys at the moment tethered JB for 3Gs is 5.0?

semiT JB via redsnow for my ipon4 iOS5 failed.

Yeah go try again I managed to do it flawlessly. Tethered JB with redsnow then semi-tethered via cydia (bigboss)

I done on redsnow, Cydia appeared in springboard but there's no icon. I click it then there's nothing coming out. Help?

Cydia is just a blank silver icon am I right? If yes try to respring/reboot tethered should be fine. I faced that too.

done tht. now trying to restore from my backup. keep getting error in iTunes, saying backup data cannot be saved on this PC.

Need help, I jb my ios5 few weeks ago, but today suddenly my cydia apps become plain white icon, there's several after the 1st semi tether icon become white

I face the same problem too and I got the solution for you. Download Sbsettings from Cydia. Then use that to respring. Respring twice or trice then the icons will appear beautifully. Then it will be normal until the next respring

http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2529 read this article for the error popping out from iTunes. Also you mentioned you have Cydia icon on home spring rite? Just that Cydia wont open? If that so, off your device. Then just open redsn0w run "just boot tethered option". Give it a try.

My advise to you is to re-install all the apps that shows blank white box.

err..anyone knows how to 'ON' a tethered jb set without needing a computer? I had to off my handphone and now its stuck at the apple logo.

I'm working now and my office computers cannot be use to download stuff, or else admins angry.

I'm using iphone 4 (ver 4.2.1) with jailbreak.
I'm planning to upgrade to newer iOS.

But i was wondering is there possible after upgrade to iOS5 without jailbreak can restore all the apps i downloaded before? (from app store and not from app store)

currently using ios5.01 but i m thinking want to downgrade and jailbreak it.
because boring without jailbreak.
can share with me how to downgrade and jb it ?

If Apple is still signing 5.0, then maybe TU can get the SHSH for you (but as far as I know, TU has not been able to that).

need help, just installed tethered jb using redsnow... try to on using just boot but now stuck at itunes logo... any advise?

Just tried to jailbreak my 3GS iOS 4.3.5 with Redsnow but failed. Its now just stuck at Apple logo. Now trying to restore and keep coming with the first message:
"iTunes has detected an Iphone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes."

In iTunes, my iPhone only displays
Capacity: n/a
Software version: n/a
Serial number: n/a

I then proceeded to hold down shift and click on Restore. I first proceeded to restore using the 4.3.5 restore IPSW on iTunes. iTunes dispalys:
"iTunes will erase and restore your phone to iOS 4.3.5 and will verify the restore with Apple."

But after software extraction, Itunes unable to restore and displays the message:
"The iPhone "iPhone" could not be restored. An unknown error has occurred [3194]"

I then repeat the process with a 5.0.0 restore IPSW but same thing happens.

Im connected to the internet during the whole process and my iTunes is the latest version. Any remedy before I officially declare my 3GS is the most expensive paperweight in the house? Also maybe go buy Magnum on 3194.

yeah done liao, the cause was insufficient space in my laptop :|

after JB initially faced some bugs and instability, but few trials later then it worked.

but found out SBSettings REmoveBG keep crashing. anyone face this? if u removeBG via activator is ok, but if from iOS 5 Notification SBSettings then will crash
