David has asked me to start version 2 of the thread as the original version has more than 2500 posts already.

Please post your discussion concerning the iPhone Jailbreaking in this thread. I assume David will be closing the V1 thread once this one is up and running. I will put in some of the initial posts which is extremely informative from the previous thread as well (I hope samlee860407 is okay with that)

Credit goes to David and samlee860407 for their initial posts in version 1 of the thread.

From version 1 of the thread

QUOTE(samlee860407 @ Apr 5 2011, 06:37 AM)

In order to maintain this thread to all who loves to customize their phone, getting tweaks and apss that being unapproved by Apple, please keep this thread clean of piracy. Please don't show a hint of piracy post here.

All post that linked to piracy will be reported, and the red tags won't go easy on you. So for the sake of we Jailbreakers, please don't post anything about piracy. Not even a slight hint of it or post will be reported, and offenders will be banned.

For those who do not wish to re-restore their iPhone since they are already on the iOS 5.0.1 tethered/semi-tethered jailbreak, The Chrinic Dev-Team has released an untethered jailbreak via a Cydia Tweak called Corona. Please find below the Guide on how to do it

How to Untether Your Previously Tethered Jailbreak Using Corona [5.0.1]

A lot of the time when you need to jailbreak, you will need to download a fresh iPhone Stock firmware (DO NOT TOUCH THESE KIND OF FIRMWARE IF YOU ARE USING A LOCKED SET!!!!!)

You can find the location of the files in the link below

Where To Download iPhone Firmware Files From

One of the most used jailbreaking tool is redsn0w and below is the link where you can download whatever version of redsn0w you want

Where to Download RedSn0w From

I will try and keep this OP updated from time to time.

Happy Jailbreaking!!!

If your firmware is susceptible to the jailbreakme exploit, then ALL you have to do is use your safari in your iPhone and visit the jailbreak me website

http://www.jailbreakme.com

You should be able to see a toggle that says Cydia with an install button. Click on that button and you're good to go

The exploit works for firmware 4.3.3 and below.

i think untethered for iOS 4.3.5 won't be release since all jailbreakers concentrate on iOS 5.

I've a question.. Let's say i want to update my iOS 4.3.1 to iOS 4.3.3. I've backup my phone using itunes. Will all my jailbreak settings/add-ons be backuped too? Or it won't & i've to download & configure all over again?

U need to download back all the cydia apps as its not being backup by itunes. There are cydia apps which backup all the cydia apps data and setting only, but still, u need to download and install all the apps itself. But, what happen at me, everytime i restore my backup using itunes, it'll also restore my setting for cydia apps, no need to reconfigure. Correct me if i'm wrong

I have recently just upgraded my iPhone 4 from iOS4.1 to iOS4.3.3.
For your information, I did not use PkgBackup, I simply re-download all the Cydia tweaks that I had been using in iOS4.1 (I write down a list). Amazingly, after re-download and install all those tweaks that I've been using, all their settings are automatically restored as well. I did perform restore from backup in iTunes after the iOS restore. I guess their configuration files are also backup in iTunes.
