i got a iphone4 running on iOS 4.2.1 can i use the latest redsn0w to jailbreak it? & do i need to tether booting?

btw.. if i go up to iOS5.0 will i be able to downgrade back? i've save my SHSH on cydia & tinyumbrella.. now possible to downgrade? since i read about iOS 5.0 has been blocked?
