I don't have iOS 5 yet. Those who has it with jb can try and give reviews here got a three day trial in cydia biggrin.gif

This is FREAKING AWESOME! Siri successfully ported to Iphone 4 and Ipod 4th gen with it running smoothly and connected to Apple server. Detailed information on how the port was performed will be released after the iPhone 4S jailbreak is released rclxm9.gif rclxms.gif

Big update to semitethered jailbreak today. v0.9.1 incorporates Saurik’s new mobile substrate. Thanks to Saurik, we are entirely rid of all the daemon patching – this means there’s no more daemon patching or restarting. Most the semi-tether work is now done by mobile substrate. The semitether package from the repository now protects your iOS 5 notification center plugins and gives you the option to patch mobile safari so that it will work on the non-jailbreak reboot mode. I’m still looking into patching mail, if possible.

Summary of changes:
1) Much more stable with new mobile substrate
2) Can patch safari so it works in the non-jailbreak reboot mode
3) App to monitor the status of your semitether and reapply. Check after cydia installs.

This new version will definitely solve all the flakiness problems we had in the past. However, be aware that this is a total rewrite of mobile substrate. Until this appears in a community source, you are beta testing so installing it is entirely at your own risk. As always, please report issues via email.

Also, with an update from MyWi author and Appsync team, we should be compatible with those, too.

So after you jailbreak semitethered , then when the untethered jailbreak is out , do you need to restore back to your current firmware first ? Or you can straight jailbreak again . And for the latest redsnow , firmware is not required to jailbreak and boot tethered right ? Thanks

i just Semi-JB my iphone4S .. it is GOOD ! After JB it pls add souce in Cydia repo http://bigboss.org/tether.. And install Semi-Tether from the repo. WITHOUT RESTART all are working GOOD ! include some tweak from Cydia that is support for IOS5..

If RESTART, all tweak from Cydia is gone, eg, SBsetting, 5dock icon etc.. Your phone will look like original IOS 5 setting... email app cannot use, the rest such as Safari and all ORIGINAL app can be run normally, phone, SMS, all running fine..

Summary.. it is worth to do semi-tethred jb as it is close to untethered..Of course, when we are back with computer. Just plug it back to do tethered boot via Rednow to return back to FULL function

Is there any iOS 5 untethered jailbreak yet??

Btw just some question. If my phone is jailbroken to the version of 4.3.1. Would I have to restore everything to original and remove the 4.3.1 jailbreak in order to upgrade to iOS 5 jailbrake blink.gif

I have recently just upgraded my iPhone 4 from iOS4.1 to iOS4.3.3.
For your information, I did not use PkgBackup, I simply re-download all the Cydia tweaks that I had been using in iOS4.1 (I write down a list). Amazingly, after re-download and install all those tweaks that I've been using, all their settings are automatically restored as well. I did perform restore from backup in iTunes after the iOS restore. I guess their configuration files are also backup in iTunes.

I have the almost same experienced as your while updating my 4.2.1 iPad to 4.3.3, using PkgBackup just to backup all the Cydia's Tweak preference file and took a snapshot of all the installed tweaks from cydia and reinstall after updating and Jailbreaking. Everything seems working fine in order as same as the previous 4.2.1FW.
