its crinch time, if given 2 set of ps3 the 2506(btol ke tdk not sure) amnd the new 3xxx series wch one will you buy??or its not that much of diff and depends on how you use/care for it?

i prefer model 25xx

the 3006 model has smaller heatsink and no hard drive or wifi light indicators.

Hence I prefer the earlier model.

One thing I thought why sony put in a smaller heatsink is because modded ps3s that play of hard disk will generate heat much faster. with a smaller heatsink means chances are modded ps3s will also be either ylod faster or overheat more and cause internal damage. some more no indicator lights to show whether hard disk running or hnot.

Thats just my theory anyway but its good as I hate the availability of this pirated stuff.

The truth is, price of alluminium went up lol.
Also the HDD is under the BD-drive... nothing was ever cooling the HDD since the PS3 slim was introduced.

I heard that the 3006 series is less noisy and its more light than older series.. Not sure but i really hate the changes from 2000series.. It makes thenps3 looks more cheap..luckily got ps3 skin ..

I chamges my ps3 from horizontal to vertical without vertical stand.. Is it safe? The heat is really less if i change to vertical..

And how to change ps3 profile pic?

just got back my ps3 from SC which was pretty quick considering i sent it in two days ago. They changed my hdd foc since its under warranty. However they told me my ps3 warranty has a few weeks left as they told me my ps3 warranty began at january 2011 thought i told them i bought it july 2011 x_x what gives?

Mine is CECHH04 set.

Can i update 4.0 firmware from any region?

I seems cant find firmware from 04 region.

CECHH04 is the model number right, not relate to any region..............region is printed on the box of the set


PS3 firmware is 1 firmware suit all model 1.............

but assume u are using Australia set, go to australia PS website to download........................and if u r using ur PS3 itself to upgrade, set will detemine by itself and donwload the suitable 1 for itself use, no need to worry...................

it's normal for Asia region console.if u want the other type try get US/EU console.

my console got frozen, is it a symptom of YLOD? i just got my console back at July... the scene got frozen, the BGM still going on, but it won't respond no matter what buttons i clicked... i wasn't playing any high graphic game...
