Banyan and Bromelia owners, please join this FB group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/388355117898515/

Objectives of the group are to create a committee to:

1) Improve security of our area - perimeter fencing, night watch, more guards etc
2) Arrange for group buys for e.g. electronics, built-ins, gates, etc
3) Build a strong network to lobby the developer and businesses in the area

Thanks

thank you. I read from another lowyat forum that there is a new Tesco store coming up in Puncak Alam but someone there disputed.
http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=56029575

Will check with the Tesco management tomorrow to verify. If it is true, it will be only a few km from BSC and this will be very good news indeed!  notworthy.gif

Have called Tesco general line but noone answered. Anyway Tesco was marked in wikimapia:
In puncak bestari (opposite Puncak Alam) about 7.6 km. from Bandar Seri Coalfields! There is no building in the map.
Perhaps some of you guys know more about this matter?

Today:
Called Tesco general line again and twice no answer. So rang the Worldwide Holdings no., the developer of Puncak Bestari where the sign Tesco is placed. Spoke to the markering department and yes, the answer is very affirmative - that there will be a new Tesco there, opposite the big mosque in Puncak Alam! This is only 7.6 km. away from Bandar Seri Coalfields, a very good news indeed!

Yes there is going to be a wet market, food court and petrol station. you can already see the tapak for petrol station with ad for anyone who wants to take it up. I hope Shell opens up there. As for wet market and food court, it's coming up on the left side of the development near the medium cost housing

Hi, Everybody. We should go as a group as our good brother Jagdish has brought us in in Facebook here. For those who don't use Facebook, you can still list out what you need for your new homes in this open forum. We can be go as a group for the common purposes that will benefit everyone. This applies to bulk purchases of any common items that each and every household will require. Even before one can move in, we need the service of wiremen for extra plugs, built-in carpenters, tilesmen, designer cum renovators, kitchen appliances, and not least, air-cond. units etc. In making these purchases that can easily cost a sum, one can select the wrong brand and engage lousy installers. My personal experience can attest to this: We have had some pretty scary problem with unfit aircond. and water heater wiring that burns up in smoke in the middle of using the appliances because the installer simply solder and join many broken wires to make a long wire instead of giving a new one! Never expect this though b'cos these wires don't even cost much. For those who go for extra plug points, you may be given the plugs but there is no wire leading to it in the wall! You only find out later while you need to use them. Some brands of air-cond. can't cool if you set the temperature above 26. Just to name a few. To avoid fire and shock later, we need to share info from those of us who have knowledge of anything good they have in their homes, name them ie. by item and brand name. It will be up to the others to use this and/ or further serf the net on consumer reviews. After that, we can list out what we want individually here. I can volunteer my service to compile and update the list here. For items that have many request for purchase, the shops can then be approached by volunteers among us to negotiate a better price quotes. After that, we let the individual buyers call up the shop for the actual deal. No obligation to anyone anyhow. What say you?

I bring up this early so that we have ample time to gather information and be prepared. The aim - move in with comfort. Nowadays with fb to communicate among ourselves, we need not go about alone like in the olden days.

My suggestion:

1. Identify various items by brand name and no. of potential buyers in FB and here.

2. Get volunteers from the group to get the best price quotes from shops.

3. Announce prices in this forum and FB group.

4. Parties can arrange to go to the outlet concerned as a group and buy directly from the shop. You are not bound to anything should you change your mind.

There is no prior group invoice but just a tentative price quotes. This way nobody gets bound anyway.

wow..i wonder if banyan's will be ready wayyyyyyyyy before June then...they are moving quite fast as when I went to the site 2 weekends ago, they were already doing up the roads..so if they want, they can deliver the whole project by March/April and say "KLK - Delivering Projects Early!" for their next sales pitch lol rclxm9.gif

Sorry folks, a correction is made to my posting:

Regarding the discounts for goods, it cannot be disclosed here as it may go against dealership conditions for some products and shop owners too may not want competitors to find out that they are selling below certain prices! Sending a private message to you will do.

For the benefit of those forumers who didn't join Jagdish's Fb group:
I will have to withdraw from my earlier proposal above. Reason: I have come to realise that the free for all facebook page that Jagdish has in mind has posed a peril even when deals can be arranged through a close forum, when anyone can post privy matters in the fb page. Traders who give us good discounts don't need people to scream their prices all over, or fellow competitors will go after them. And then the latter will accuse all the buyers for they don't know who spread it and hammer all of them! Earlier in the group, I have thought only about the possibility of an accidental disclosure from the benefactors, and now let me bring you another scenario: If you think buyers will certainly not leak any info to protect themselves, yes if all are careful. Now push your thinking further: What about those in the forum who can't afford the deals? Are you not aware of jealousy?

And this, is made possible by one Jagdish who has set up an open Facebook page on BSC and insisted that it must be open despite knowing the perils. Anyone can post anything, according to him who had control over the format. I must say: A rascal may destroy a community's gains!

Some may join the close forum he offers to get into deals. For me, I need to stay away from Jagdish's forum as I value my life more than discounts. I won't need anything from a rascal.

As for his Fb page, the more people choose 'like' for the BSC page, you are increasing its newsfeed spread of things like this. Publicity here is only good for those who are selling their property. They fix up the homes with discount buys and leave the house vacant for sales, but those who join the deal and move in may suffer. You may be tricked to serve others' interest.

Guys, very long time I did not post anything on this forum, welcome all Bandar Seri Coalfields owners~

I did follow the post here and also in the FB there, for myself I will stick to the discussion at here as FB is too open to public and the people who know you in actual life, I feel not comfortable to post anything there.

For the group effort, I think the only thing that we should plan and work together is the security part. For others issue like group purchase, I think everyone has their own preference, so is very hard to come to a mutual agreement, and also I don't think that we hope to have the same items as our neighbors have, everyone hope their house is special. For myself, I do not mind to pay extra to exchange for the flexibility and also the freedom in getting own items.

Btw, recently KLK is moving quite slow in this township in term of launching the next projects, as compare to other developers who has the similar township development, so the master plan still is a question at this moment, they might stop it anytime if the sales and profit is not encouraging, this is business.

Cheers~

Grace - you're a real source of entertainment with your dinosaur thinking. Perhaps some hobbies in retirement will help besides screaming that people's safety will be jeapordized through group buys. Anyway, to each his own and thank you for your feedback.
