all custom rom comes as pre-rooted.
when u install them, the root should be there, even if you are coming from a stock unrooted rom..

So what you mean is if I want to flash to another ROM, I need not root it again right?

Its depends whether to rom is rooted already or not. If you flash original rom the root will be disable. If you flash custom the usually its already rooted.

So meaning to say if I'm going to flash to Overcome, I can skip the rooting process, and straight head to Odin instead?

dont worry to much la.. even if Overcome rom doesnt come with root.. rooting is so easy to do...

first, Install CWM by ODIN.. then install Overcome rom... easy.. dont worry bout root...
once you have CWM running, it should be fine...

Err guys.. wanna know, what is ROM flashing for? So far I only flashed before my super ancient Samsung Omnia from WinMo 6.1 to 6.5.. Did it because I liked the interface better...

So how about in tablets? Is it for performance? Do the custom ROMs have different looks?

i recently purchased the dagi stylus P504 for my galaxy tab 10.1

imo, it's the best stylus i used for tab, compared to other types.. drawing, writing or even signing yr own signature is done fine with it.. especially when u paired with touchscreentune app..

pictures and video demo i will upload when i have time.. if anyone want to buy, maybe can contact me cz i planned to bulk it cz a few of my friends wants it too..

only down side is it may tend to scratch yr screen protector if yr screen is dirty..

I don't think the 3G model would be able to make calls, the 3G is mainly for online purposes.

Wanted to check, anyone flashed Overcome already and the Tab cant connect via Kies? Seemed to be working fine yesterday but this morning when I connect to my Mac, it mentioned device not connected. Have tried over Windows 7 as well but still the same thing

Tried restarting my PC and the Tab but still the same result, would it be caused by the ROM flashing?

my kies cant even detect my tab when in stock rom, and never bothered trying ever since using custom rom.. y u wanna connect kies anyway?

if you flash to custom rom, which are normally 3.2 HoneyComb, u get compatible mode.. u can open apps that are not suitable for tab.. also, FB apps from market are more stable, no Force Close.. all of the advantages, you can read from XDA.. in each posting, read the changelog.. those are the modification made on the custom rom...

i might be insterested.. mainly for taking notes.. PM me the expected price...
if without screen protector, do u think it will scratch/leave mark on the glass?

so far, the only reason i rooted my device is to remove bloatware that comes with stock rom...
less bloatware = less memory hogging = smoother UI... second, is to backup my apps to local disk using Titanium backup.. in case i want to flash to different rom, i can simply restore all my backups without even going to market to redownload.. my progress/current data (mainly games) will also be there...

if u buy from manufacture, it's USD20 including shipping.. do yr conversion u will get yr expected price.

I will try to nego lower if in bulk, which i think should be no problem.

as long as yr screen is clean, the stylus wont scratch.. cz the scratch will come from dirty particles on yr screen as u drag yr stylus around.. but i think the glass is hard enough to withstand it.. i had my SP on, so i dunno the effect w/o it..
