I get this feeling that most of the people here are business or working people, that's why they keep saying it is a must to have a data plan.

Us college and uni students have wifi everywhere....home got wifi, go campus got wifi, go shopping mall got wifi, only driving no wifi...but is it even necessary to have internet while driving? im pretty sure watching youtube while driving is a little dangerous...

SO having a data plan is not something to be proud off and to look down upon people who don't have one...it just depends on your needs.....some have the data plan because got no wifi where they work, is it fair for us to tell you that you should have a router everywhere you go and host a wifi network?

So everyone, please stop harping over whether or not EVERYONE should have/ not have a data plan. Sheesh

Gmarket, currently the ONLY place to get one. And it's about RM75 with RM30ish postage. If I can get 10 ppl to wanna start a bulk, I we can split the shipping to a more managable level (as they do bulk shipping).

But otherwise, RM30 for shipping can get you a capdase SP already lol.

Eiraku - Is this bulk order on going? If it is, 3 units for me thumbup.gif

Totally agree. Everyone's need is different but does not mean working people need data plan more. I am working but i got internet at office and home. During travel i drive, so no way to use. For me minimal data only required. I am also on digi 48 (1gb). Last time on maxis my usage not more than 500 mb per month so this plan is more than enough for me.

same situation, and i take umobile prepaid internet for RM28 per month. data plan is a want, not a need. need is limited but want is demon. if u could afford it and u think dat data plan is necessary to u during those times that u r out of wifi coverage and the timeframe is quite long, then probably its wise to take data plan. if most of the time u oso got wifi, no pain getting another money wasting plan jz to increase ur expenses. save the money n get a good accessory for ur SGSII is way better doh.gif

umobile is interesting. myb someday go n enquire it

not only save money, but save wastage too (one of the main reason why i try not to get biggest 3g plan. watch youtube on pc much much better!

speaking of wastage. today i go n hunt for 1-2A charger but dont hv. only 1A for charging blackberry but is s2 usable cuz micro usb-B.

i assume any brand phone charger is considered safe on s2. 700mA is slow n wasting current only Lol

must go green now

Hello buddy, I plan to get a data plan tomorrow.

I have WIFI connection in my house and university most of the time. So, I will only use 3G connection when I'm outstation. My monthly phone bill is less than RM30 because I'm using Maxis student package.

My monthly phone call usage and 3G connection are minimal. I would like to remain my maxis mobile number. Which telco and plan I should consider?

I stay at PJ Section 17

Thanks in advance

Anyone can help me?

I ask this question because sales assistants from each telco will just tell me that their services are better than others. No point for me to go around telco shops in a shopping mall.

I would appreciate your help. smile.gif

im using it..300MB for RM28..more than enough to cover my basic needs..if i want to download rom or anything big, i can just download it over wifi,
im using celcom bcos of its coverage area..bcos where i lives, u got only 2 choices..its either celcom or maxis..bcos of the infamous overcharge bill, maxis is a no no for me...

i would say umobile.. 28 per month 500mb unlimited.. free 100mins call to any network and 30 sms to any network.. at the same time.. if u reload rm30.. u will get 30 days free for calling umobile number.. i do not haf any umobile fren but i could not even finish the 100 mins with all the data and wifi... go n haf a look..
only thing is some places it doesnt haf coverage and it will switch to celcom.. and when its on celcom.. u get only edge speed or lesser.. and i find that the line is not as good if its raining too..

OMG..i thought I was the only one who is sooooo crazy.. I was really on my way. Cuz I called to check the operating hours of the maxis centre. They said need my dad to go with me, so i putar balik. I kind offended the operator by telling him that I wanted to talk to his superior. I want the phone soooooo badly!!!

Btw, I heard that those telcos are selling APs. Is this true?
