Can someone find out if the USB-OTG Cable can plug into a laptop and allow the laptop to connect to the net via the Note? Connection speed is always better when using cable, compared to going through Wifi, right?

You can just use the normal usb cable to connect the notebook. On phone just select usb thethering under hotspot thethering

Added on November 4, 2011, 9:10 amKomputermuzik: the usb otg can only detect fat32 formatted usb 2.5 "hard drive. I have tested - it works with my old 80gb but for my 500gb i need to power the harddrive. So for those newer harddrives 320gb n above you need the harddrive have additional port to power it n formatted in fat32

Would like to ask those who already have the device, do you see GNote to be able to replace your regular tablet of >7 inch? In terms of browsing webpages and watching video, would you take this instead of a tablet?

wow... can be certified as office-ready!! Good to hear that JB got the roadshow too, will definitely go test test. thumbup.gif

only thing missing is the HDMI output to make it a full tablet replacement. But I think i am asking too much. tongue.gif

Amazingly fast - I estimate full charge from zero to 100 % in an hour using direct ac. The SGS II with a lower capacity 1650maH needs at least 3 + hours to be fully charge

There is no need any review. What I can just say is the best android smartphone I have ever used after the SGS II. It outperform the SGS II in so many areas . If you do not mind the bigger display, this is indeed one heck of a smartphone
I will rate it a 9.9/10
As stated before my only grouse is poor compatibility with 3rd party launchers: 3d spb shell was a turn off as the graphic images were displayed at half size. Zeam - lags terribly when swiping across homescreens. Tested LauncherPro - is better but the slight lag/jerkiness across homescreen is evident. Will be testing ADW EX launcher later
I do not quite like the original TouchWiz as the apps are not sorted alphabetically. I use an app appzorter lite to sort the apps alphabetically but end result I lose all the dock icons, left only an application icon. However the transition and smoothness among homescreens is still the best in TouchWiz
Those who complain about poor battery life and higher than normal warmness ( or some say hot) in the SGS II will not see it in the Galaxy Note

Someone asked will this replace my tablet - ipad 2 and Galaxy Tab 10.1 : for me a definately YES. The larger tablets only offer a greater screen estate for better viewing. In terms of performance, I find the Note is better than Galaxy Tab 10.1 and very much better than my ipad 2. As I do not play any games, but I believe the ipad2 offers better and more alternatives in gaming.
I was comparing a 1.5 hour movie download from Youtube on the Note versus the ipad2 - what I can say the Note perform marvelously well with minimal disruption ( i score it 9/10) while the ipad2 just fail miserably ( 5/10) as the download keeps on disconnecting and playback was jerky most of the time. However the Note on youtube viewing still cannot match the smoothness in the Blackberry Playbook which I reckon offers the best browsing, youtube experience on a tablet

I did not use the original charger ; just use those normal generic USB port charger. I used it to charge all my gadgets - my other androids, ipad2 and tablets, blackberry 9860, Playbook. Infact my SGS II was sold off with all original accessories intact , not used

GPS , satellite lockup as good as SGS II ; no complains so far. Sygic lockup within 2 secs and Papago X5 and Google Maps within 5 secs
Audio - do not see any difference with SGS II - just satisfactory only. Anyway I am not a audiophile guy but it can never match the iphone 4 quality
