Probably why I got a bit suspicious when I was looking at the power draws in NBC for similarly specced laptops and why I wanted someone to use a 120W power adapter to see if it helps the case. Because sometimes 90W is just a number but the real power supplied might be roughly 85W or so?

ya. well its kinda hard to get a 120W power brick@@. But so far N55 i5 users here most of them tried the furmark test and gaming all didn't complain of the same problem.

I think it's best if you can ask them if they are having such problem too. Maybe direct words to ASUS Taiwan would be more effective than to Malaysian one

since this n55s comes with integrated graphic and also nvidia...
how we can configure to have nvidia fully running only?
i guess it must be a silly questions...
because last time we can disable the integrated graphic via BIOS settings... but this unit the BIOS dont have such feature sad.gif

u cannot disable the intel hd 3k and run solely on nvidia card only. This is not like AMD's switchable graphic card. Intel hd 3k will always be there. Even when u run programme that uses GT555M, actually the GT555M just do all the processing and calculations, then transfer it thru intel hd 3k which procure it on the screen.

Seriously... having integrated and dedicated graphics card is such a pain in the a**. I wish it was always using nVidia instead of IntelHD. I don't really care about the battery life though....

same here lol. Really wish laptop can just go back to before, processor, then dedicated gpu. Pity intel integrate their own graphic in i core>.<

For me it is better to have this optimus tech than solely rely on dedicated GPU...yes, i also dont car eabout the battery life but i do care about the age of the GPU...logically, intense use of GPU will produce intense heat and will shorten the lifespan...just my two cents..besides, the configuration is not that hard

well its not like u gonna stress ur gpu 24/7 right. If its like u run gpu folding@home 24/7 then probably it will shorten it real fast. But like normal usage it won't really shorten the lifespan just like that.

well KongorJr passed it to me. And his laptop is running it. Thats why i dare to flash it lol. If not i wouldn't also. By any chance the service centre can get so advanced bios much earlier than what is uploaded? Coz website only has 213..... this is like 215@@
