I don't know why but it seems that the images on the first 3 posts seemed to be unviewable on my side.
Oh, this thread rightly belongs in the Model Specific subtopic like it or not.

I'm back from IT Fair and have finally molested and abused the N-series there. Happy to report that the case is very solid with very minimal flexing. Keyboard didn't suffer from flex and is way better than the old N43/53 series although they were using the same design. Only issue I had? The pretty thick lid and the curved inwards design for the chrome banding around the lid. Otherwise, it's a pretty good first impression.

Probably why I got a bit suspicious when I was looking at the power draws in NBC for similarly specced laptops and why I wanted someone to use a 120W power adapter to see if it helps the case. Because sometimes 90W is just a number but the real power supplied might be roughly 85W or so?

QUOTE(mkhairie @ Sep 4 2011, 10:20 PM) Dear Sifu Kevin, I tell you one thing, World in Conflict and Battlefield 2 works pretty smoothly on high on my old GT335M equipped A42JV. It's gonna be peanuts for the GT555M. I can even play Crysis 2 on high settings and still get a good 30+ FPS. 30% gap is a big different... hmmm... But I wonder either this model could coup with BF3 graphic at high performace.. Dear Sifu Trance... Have you tried "World in Conflict" and Battle Field2"? How's ur comment? Is there any other heavy game that u have tested? Please tell if u are free... |

QUOTE(mkhairie @ Sep 4 2011, 10:55 PM) Dear Sifu Kevin, Yeah, BF3 in not officially out yet.. And that's why I'm really concern on getting a new laptop which is really compatible to play it.. Or maybe I will be waiting for the game to come out first and get some reviews from LYN users.. Dear Sifu Alex, Thanks with the great info,.. My nephew here got an Asus i5-480M 2.66Ghz, Radeon HD 6470.. While playing "World in conflict" the graphic is really nice but the FPS is untold. Hardly to move the cursor and laggy... I'm not sure HD Radeon 6470M is in which class compare to Nvidia?... Please help... Dear all, Thanks with the great info given.. Ya all very supportive... QUOTE(lee_what2004 @ Sep 4 2011, 10:59 PM) What he said. QUOTE(Trance4eva @ Sep 4 2011, 11:18 PM) If that was true, there would be a lot of rich people here. xD |

U-series is a good recommendation. Long battery life and decent performance.

It's a trade off. It's too slim to stuff a more powerful speaker inside.

QUOTE(Sridev Pro Designer @ Sep 19 2011, 11:24 PM) QUOTE(Acid_RuleZz @ Sep 19 2011, 11:31 PM) You can use ThrottleStop to set the multiplier... Use Afterburner and adjust the slider for core clock to a lower value. Maybe by 100MHz and see if there is any problems.Added on September 19, 2011, 11:32 pmOn second thought.. thats not actually underclocking. |
