ive downloaded the 285.62 nvidia graphic driver.. what about the modded inf?.. do i need to get the latest INF too?

Just got my N45SF with 8GB DDR3 today at Lowyat. Damage - Rm2,610.00. Hope I got a good notebook to use. Worried about the GPU throttle, no island keyboard, no freebies (decided not to take it, less RM20.00) and upgraded the RAM from 4GB to 8GB.

I saw in the catalogue it lists N45SF as having 750GB HDD with 7200rpm. I checked with the specs on the side of the box it says only 5400rpm 640GB HDD. why?

Haven't done anything yet. Straightaway I went to creating the recovery DVDs.

it is the old batch that is with 640gb hdd.
erm power adapter no comment, since i using n55 not n45, so far no problem.

do u guys experienced SUPER DUPER HOT power adapter? i was playing hot pursuit and i felt the heat coming from the power adapter. i touched it and it was scorching hot!! the hotness that u can't hold for more than 3 secs! i never experienced this before cos my acer laptop's power adapter doesn't give me this kind of problem.

Yes. The power adapter is rather hot even when I am only in the process of creating the recovery DVDs. Is it acceptable??

Yes .. me too.. what's your GPU temperature ? mine is AROUND 81 C

well the power adapter barely give enough power to the laptop, so it has to work very hard.

Well, it depends on your Acer spec..

hmm.. it's acer 5935g, gt240m, p8600 2.4ghz, 8gb ram, 2 and half year old d.. by right the newer the laptop model, the lesser they will generate heat/consume power rite? jus assumption.. dun really know IT facts.. haha..

Hmm..my power adapter is at normal temperature even when gaming I never know it can be that hot until some of u complained.Tested just now with Battlefield 3...my power adapter is still not as hot as u all said

try play for 30 mins then check?

lol, ya its 1600x900 only. But now since Asus fixed the problem ady, i don see a reason of not buying a N45SF. personally i prefer N45SF over N55SF. Yes true, bigger screen with numpad, but a 1600x900 resolution are a bit heavy for a GT555M. In some games u can only put high setting in 1366x768 and lags in 1600x900. Weight of course not much difference, just 300g difference, but 55sf are too bulky for me. Coz i carry my laptop around everyday, so i prefer 45sf. If i didn't carry it around, i will just use external keyboard. Plus i changed my laptop into a Crucial M4+ori 640gb hdd(so total one ssd one harddisc, took out my optical coz i don really use them), a small portable yet powerful laptop

"high setting in 1366x768 and lags in 1600x900" really got different de ar...for 14 inch and 15.6 inch screen.. so the smaller screen the better right...

I've upgraded my Graphic drive to v285.62..
but.. After a while forcing my NFS hot pursuit in both NVIDIA n NFS max setting ... got glitches! .. lots of pine tree!!! i think xmas soon coming!! lol...   
temperature : 84 straight, Gpu : 99 staight .. huhuhu..

this happened to me too. but not bad as u. scared the hell of me  . when i plugged in the subwoofer i noticed the jack bend downwards and laptop didnt recognize the subwoofer anymore.
what i do is just pull up slightly the jack to make it level with the laptop and i can feel the port moving inside the laptop. and walla the subwoofer working again.

Hi Timy.. It happened exactly same to me too.. I immediately send it to Asus Royal club as per warranty .... but b4 i go for the repair, I decided to test my subwoofer whether it is still well function or not by going to any computer shop that sell the same model n found that the woofer still ok.. 
AT KK Asus, they said they have to check either the port or the whole motherboard effected... if whole motherboard will take time to repair or order process..
luckily.. only 2 days i got my lappy back as they said only minor problem.. the port loosen a bit... Finally, the problem was fixed and UNDER WARRANTY!..

but nowadays.. i need to adjust/pusing2 the jack cos sometimes the woofer start to malfunction again..  ))) hehehehehehe...

moral of the story... dont expect 100% fixed but can try go repair again if the same problem occur...

regarding the bended jack as in my case too.. i've slowly straighten it myself but x 100% straight enough with full faith and whispering prayer!..  hehehehe.... dont worry if u hear little crack sound while bending it straight cos still the woofer is functioning well after tested in the shops as mentioned in the previous story.. hehehe...

do keep your faith 100% when fixing this part... otherwise if patah.. ask for replacement from ASUS.. hehehe.. Good luck! hehehe..
