does any1 here experience problems with optimus using the latest 285.62 Nv driver???
somehow when playing any video files or using youtube......optimus set HD3000 as default and does not allow us to force Nvdia GPU as the default graphics. Now all the video that is being played has low quality images cause HD3000 are processing them doh.gif

in the previous driver optimus allow us to set any GPU as a default but somehow i think Nvidia just screw up their Optimus. Now we can't force certain program to use Nvidia GPU

Hey I just got the N45 yesterday & I'm still in the midst of testing it. I would like to ask, anyone experience video laggings? I played several movies, some movies are fine while movie some lags throughout the whole movie, making it unwatchable. Even though I use another video player, the result is still the same. This happens also on different video format, so it's not just because of a particular format.

Also, it lags as well when I'm playing Starcraft 2 on high settings. Anyone managed to play SC2 smoothly on extreme settings?

Thanks for the info, I've downloaded the file but I don't know how to update my bios. I saw the following quote from Asus FB & got worried;
Are there any guide on how to update the bios? I saw some in google but not sure how well it'll work.
*
download the BIOS file:

NEW BIOS

start button>search "winflash">flash the bios file.

Brochure isn't always accurate..
The Asus G53SX@RM3999 stated 1366x768, but user getting FullHD..

what?? the G53 comes with FullHD? Damn. If I knew that earlier, I would have bought that. I kept looking for a full HD screen for all these while.. so end up I bought the 1600x900 coz that is the only one I can get at the right price. If I knew that earlier, I would have bought it.. sht sht sht.. regret kao kao.. =.=

Thanks for the info. I went to one shop last nite and the sales guy opened up the N55 and the display setting showing 1600X900. Before that he was also thinking it was 1366X768. So I will rest the case. Thanks again.

Hi Asus members, icon_question.gif

Recently I accidentally drop my Sonic Master sub-woofer speaker when I try to lift my laptop. yawn.gif
Because I forgot that my speaker is plug in, the speaker was hanging through out the lifting motion. To make it much worse, I quickly put my laptop on the floor to avoid stress from hanging sub-woofer but the speaker hit the floor in doing so. vmad.gif

Its already too late when I realized as the jack from the speaker turn to bend, while the yellow port for the sub-woofer chip a bit due to pressure from the speaker hanging. cry.gif

In general as the after effect :
1) My port is chipped ~ can't tell whether is broken or not
2) My sub-woofer jack turn to bend, ~ can't test my speaker problem, either only the jack is broken or all the speaker turn disfunction.
3) Can't verify whether my speaker still can be use.

Now, can you tell me does my Asus warranty cover this accident? sweat.gif
And what should i do if it does or doesn't? rclxub.gif

can't really get the situation there, you put the laptop down and the jack hit the floor? or the subwoofer hit the floor?

can you connect it back now? got any sound from the sub when you open music?

i think if man-made accident do not cover, like spilling drinks or put heavy things on the laptop.

only if hardware problem like board, screen, grahic etc, which if they are defective, they will cover. may be you need to ask asus sc regarding this, are you near to imbi, times square area?

@ dD_Se7en, left hand lower side a bit hot when long time gaming like 3 hours, otherwise is ok.
temperature drop down pretty fast when stop the heavy use, normally around 4x degree. no aircond, using a cooler. should be ok i would say.

I'm Trying to put the laptop on the floor to avoid the stress of the wire.. The sub still hanging..
While doing so, my sub hit the floor first, before i safely landed my laptop..

Nope, no sound.. even the driver notification is not shown.. cry.gif

Just send the send message to Asus SC.

Yes, Imbi is near to my home, but i'm studying in JB right now..
and I need to use the laptop until end of the semester around mid January rclxub.gif
Just wanted to find out any other person having the similar situation.. yawn.gif

left palm rest if in N45SF is due to hdd, if u change(like me) to ssd and such then the heat no longer there. For N55SF its due to a northbridge there. If u wan to improve that u can only change the cooling for the chip
