What software did u use? I recommend DSCaler. This is what i got using S-Video + DSCaler.

If u're not using DSCaler....please try it with ur normal Composite cable 1st.

My PS2 is the fat version. When i played Kingdom Hearts I / II for the first time, it was fine. But after a while, when i decided to play the game once more, the problem started. While during some cutscenes, after the cutscenes finishes, it changes into black screen before changing back to play mode. The problem is when it changes to black screen, it stops there and doesn't change back to play mode. The only thing i hear is the sound from the cutscenes. What is going on?

Hi all hope someone can help me here, I own a SLIM PS2 for few years now, and recently it started giving me scratches on my discs, the scratch are all circles. I couldnt get a good pictures of my own disc but i give a picture i found from the net for reference.

user posted image

My scratches are not as bad as shown in the pictures but somewhat similar.

Anyone know the cause of this? ive cleaned out the ps2 for dust. but i notice that when i move the lens up and down, the gold strip connected to the lens tend to lift up higher than the lens. Is it safe to push and massage the that gold strip down? hopefully it will solve the problem.

Thanks all

I hope someone can assist me with the problem that I am currently facing... sad.gif

LCD TV: Samsung LA27S71B
DVD Player: Philips DVP5986K/98
Receiver: Yamaha RX-V1600
HDMI Cable: QED Qunex HDMI-P (1.3)
Console: Sony Playstation 3

Currently, I am using the HDMI port,

DVD - OK (720p/1080i)
Receiver monitor out - no picture
PS3 (connected straight to LCD TV) - no picture and not even detected by PS3. Tried to press the power button for 5 second to reset the display at PS3 but still not working. Currently running on standard definition. However, when I send the PS3 back to the shop with a 40" Samsung LCD TV, PS3 is able to detect the port immediately and subsequently asks for HDMI configuration. Got the person to set to 720p and yet no picture.

Thank you so much!

Thank you so much for replying. smile.gif

No. I have not and I will give it a try. flex.gif

BTW, for information, some HDMI cable quotes the revision number, eg. 1.3, etc. Does it really make a difference from the signal protocol perspective? I am coming from the angle of compatibility. sweat.gif

Hi thanks for the comment. But i went a ahead and gently push down the wire strip connecting to the lens and tested an unscratched disc. Played for more than an hour and no more scratches wink.gif .

I just found out that my PS3 console got problem... the wireless conncection between console and sixaxis/DS3 will lost connection after a few minute on. It happen from the 1st time I buy it. at first i thought the sixaxis has problem. then when I use other sixaxis and test with other PS3, the problem still happennig. So, confirm lah... my PS3 is defect. It also was confirm by the shop where I brought it. well, the shop cannot do anything unless claim for warranty and need to pay RM350 for the postage to singapore.

so, for anyone who wanna buy PS3... you also need to check for console to controller connection.make sure it can connect. If not, you will ended facing problem like me... burn RM350 just for warranty claim only...goods sold are difficult to return.....huhuhu

hey guys, anyone here hook up their ps3 to acer AL2216W ? Im having some trouble with it. Im using HDMI-DVI cable, i did the 5 sec reset thing and my screen blink one time and shows black screen. I've check the online manual for model and it says it does support HDCP.. could it be the HDMI-DVI cable problem or my LCD monitor ? i buoght my acer last year February.. Second thought , thinking that my acer was a old model , most probably doesnt hv HDCP.. Not too sure as well lol..

hope you guys can help with my problem there else will need to get a 32" lcd

and btw my fren is getting a 32" lcd, is it advisable to use any hdmi-hdmi cable? or he needs to get the ps3 compatible wan?

Your help is much appreciated notworthy.gif notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

^yes, according to specs, AL2216W is HDCP compliant and should work. U saw the screen blink one time? try the reset and hold the button longer.

if use LCD TV, just get any HDMI cable will do. can buy those cheap <RM30.
