OK.. Tried Sukiya Yesterday night.. not so crowded. Probably due to lack of adverts. Everything including the bowl wth Yokohama old clock tower are the same with those chains in Japan as per my photos of the branch in Shibuya, Tokyo...Price yes.. cheaper than Japan for sure because, in the Taipan branch, small bowl only 200yen or RM7.90, Medium RM9.90 & large RM13.20.. rclxms.gif Taste wise.. no porky but I can say. Almost to the one I tried in Tokyo liao rclxms.gif

Location, just beside true fitness main entrance & part of that Gym buiding

Sashimi Omakase @RM150.00++
Outlook: 4/5
Creativity: 4/5
Taste: 5/5
Price: 3/5
Overall: 4/5 - For the first time I ordered a Sashimi Omakase which means request the chef to prepare his recommendation of the day to us. I really like the Toro and the Uni the most. They are really so sweet. Too bad that the price is quite expensive for only 5 kinds with 2 pieces each only.

Kampachi Carpaccio @RM52.00++
Outlook: 4/5
Creativity: 5/5
Taste: 5/5
Price: 2/5
Overall: 4/5 - Must order this! I really like the slight spicy and sour taste accompany with the fresh Kampachi meat. The price for this dish is quite expensive as well.

Cha Soba @RM20.00++
Outlook: 4/5
Creativity: 4/5
Taste: 4/5
Price: 3/5
Overall: 3/5 - My friend has never tried a Soba before, so I have to teach her on how to eat Soba in a correct way. She really enjoy it even though a cold noodle is quite weird but new for her.

Shiro Goma Ice Cream (left) and Goma Ice Cream (right) @RM8.00++/each - These are their homemade black sesame ice cream. The black one is much nicer because it is not so sweet and the ice cream is very smooth.

Service: 4/5
Ambiance: 4/5
Food Serving Speed: Moderate
Recommended?: Yes!

Nice.
I was also very surprised when I saw the Sukiya logo when driving home.
Do they use Japanese rice?

Any chance for Matsuya to come? biggrin.gif

I turned Vegetarian a few years ago but my fave Japanese Rest was Tosaya Rest formerly at Grd Flr Wisma Cosway who have now shifted to Jalan Midah 1, Cheras 56000 KL on the same row with RHB and Hong Leong. When I was there last in 2009 they were a pork free place & I was 1st introduced to this place by my Japanese Expatriate friend. I can't vouch for the present place @ the present venue but it was at Wisma Cosway value for $ & tasted good!

Yes. Sri petaling has one at the new shop area along with old town. I am not a fan because I can't take beef

Dashimaki Mentai @RM15.90++
Outlook: 4/5
Creativity: 5/5
Taste: 3/5
Price: 1/5
Overall: 3/5 - It is a rolled omelette which is dressed with mayo and served in a hot plate. Very interesting dish but after the third bite, I feel quite queasy because of the tasteless egg which highly depends on the mayo for the taste. The most ridiculous thing is this egg cost RM15.90.

Salmon Zukushi @RM32.90++
Outlook: 4/5
Creativity: 4/5
Taste: 4/5
Price: 3/5
Overall: 3/5 - Their rigid sashimi moriawase menu forced me to settle with just salmon combination only. Their salmon is delicious but it is just a little too expensive.

Zaru Soba @RM12.90++
Outlook: 4/5
Creativity: 3/5
Taste: 4/5
Price: 4/5
Overall: 3/5 - Cold soba is my favourite dish to order in a Japanese restaurant. This restaurant does not let me down in that.

Chicken Katsu @RM19.90++
Outlook: 4/5
Creativity: 4/5
Taste: 4/5
Price: 4/5
Overall: 4/5 - This is a very interesting way to serve a chicken fillet. Rice at the bottom and mixed with the delicious chicken and egg. This dish becomes the best among all.

Jikasei Pudding @RM7.90++
Outlook: 4/5
Creativity: 4/5
Taste: 5/5
Price: 3/5
Overall: 4/5 - This is a must order dessert. Luckily, I still order it even though I am very full after all the meals above. The tenderness, sweetness and the way it slowly melts in your mouth is very well adjusted to pleasure my taste bud. Excellent!
