Can be DIY. Just need to remove the press studs retaining the stone guard under the wheel arch and press the Cobra wiring rubber plug back in place. Will try to post some pics when I have time to dismantle mine for some pics. Remove any additional carpet mats as original carpet needs to be lifted up to dry properly due to the thick sound proofing padding on the under side which will probably be soaked. Good luck !

Need help, I plan to install DRL (day time running light), turn ON during turn ignition switch is on (ignition on position 2), turn off when ignition switch is off. But I can't locate the ignition switch wire in the engine compartment to tap the positive wire of DRL. does anyone know?

I don't know how to describe this:

Car jerking issue:looks like it happens during low fuel before alert appears. As usual when I step on accelerator lightly but not much acceleration like usual, gotta step harder and hold for 1-2 seconds then only it speeds up.

It gives me a feel like the car is going to sleep soon.

@super8

U need to get the wire from the Fuse Box. Find it on the driver section and start looking for the Fuse box compartment and find the fuse etc Radio. From there when you turn the key to ACC, you shall get the power to light up the DRL.

If you want to make the DRL on ON mode, you need to find the power also from the fuse box, see which one if giving the power when your key is turn to ON condition.

Actual fuel tank capacity?
Hi Guys,
Just wanted to ask if anyone noticed something strange about the actual fuel tank capacity?

Take a look at the following pics
The first one is my total milleage
676 traveled +21 left = 697 total kms (the low fuel light's already been on for a while)
My FC for the 676? is in the next pic 21.4km/l

Now... the advertised fuel tank is 40 liters.

In my case, I have about 1 liter of fuel left in my tank (21km)
I traveled 676/21.4 = 31.58 liters used
So total fuel used+available fuel 31.58+1 = 32.58 liters vs actual 40 liters

Doesn't make sense right, the onboard fuel consumption meter is totally wrong, or my fuel tank is smaller? The photos were taken just before I refueled.

I refueled, and let the pump auto stop.
When it stopped, total fuel pumped in is ~32.5 liters like that + the 1 liter left, actual fuel is more like 33.5 liter.

So.. the 21.4km/l is correct.
I've burned about 31.58 liters
And i've refueled about 32 liters, which all adds up.

What doesnt add up now is, from this. It would seems that the max that my fuel tank can hold is about 34 liters of petrol instead of the advertised 40 liters?

What about the rest of you guys? Are you refueling close to 40?
For the tank to be off by 6 liters, that's a rather big difference.... Need fellow insighter's insight on this ;D thanks..

the book did mentioned, this is an estimation figure. Results may vary....
yup, chizzu's right. the remaining fuel is for reserves.

i have tested, when fuel gauge point at red line, remaining fuel in the car is 5 or 6 litre and pointing 1 or 2 bar below redline, remaining fuel is 3 to 4 litre......

the remaining 8l is the spare petrol in the tank. So when you reach totally empty fuel on the gauge you can still drive your car for the remaining 8l.

if not you wouldve stuck in the middle of the road lol

Seriously got 6-8L left as spare? I heard about that before, but never did dare to drive it until dry... paiseh if others see insight dead on road sleep.gif

Added on October 28, 2011, 10:20 amBut 6liter as spare, that's 120km!!
A bit.. excessive to warn at 40km range if still have 120km+40 km of range in total..?

60% city driving 40% HW
Lots of stop and go traffic < 2km to work daily. < 2 min trips
I offset this by offing aircond, as it's not hot in morning and afternoon when go home, short 2 minute trip anyway, too short time for it to get hot. Speed.. avg ~30km due to lots of stop turn, stop go, speed bump in residential area zzzzzz. (this is the part that really kills my FC) average FC, 19-21km/l depending on how lucky i got to trigger the assist mode. Sometimes when it's triggered, I already have to turn, and have to pedal off.. dbl zzzz

Highway, speed about ~105 avg fc here. 25km/l

Normal city drive speed is about 50-70~ aircond on =D average FC 22 km/l

Live in Iph btw, plenty of stop and go traffic...
Add the above up, avg of 21.4km/l
