QUOTE(waveweaver @ Aug 26 2011, 02:47 PM) ~~ ppfftttt ~~ i replied... anyway, re-quoting myself...So could you kindly let us know whether got sim display on contact or not., mr.virgin :-P QUOTE(mydragoon @ Aug 26 2011, 02:38 PM) ok, i think i have the same thingy... i dun get a sim card option. from contacts -- menu -- more -- display options... for select contacts to display, i see only: * phone * google account * whatsapps (blah, blah...) no SIM card option. added: from contacts -- menu -- import/ export... i see SIM CARD option there. one can import or export the sim card contacts. when click import from sim card, it will ask import to phone, google, etc... so, hope that helps. again, this is Android/ Google... Should fully experience it... Sync with Google. |

i was trying to tell my friend how to get to a place.. found it, but no way for me to extract the coordinates or click the screen to share... is it possible with the default maps? if not, any map apps that can do that? i've not installed google earth coz i figured maps and google earth should be abt the same, no? |

QUOTE(gm0023 @ Aug 26 2011, 03:14 PM) need to be more specific. think of this as science experiment..."for a while" means how long? 1hr? 10mins? 1min? coz if you have been reading the last 2-3 pages... i thought i was moderate user... then sadly, i found out i'm phone addict. and what do you mean by lag? the whole thing stop... or go into slow motion? and... are you a virgin? oooops, i mean... what rom are you using? what apps do you have installed...? all these can affect and cause lag... Added on August 26, 2011, 3:24 pm QUOTE(erymanthus @ Aug 26 2011, 03:13 PM) You are right? So, how do we see the SIM contacts. actually... like what earlier post mentioned, just import to phone... should be fine.During my old SGS days, there are SIM, Phone and Google contacts. Why SGS2 only got Phone and Google? How to fix this? Thanks Edit: Okay, i read on the previous page...the only way to get back SIM display is to flash to newer ROM... Btw, I'm on virgin XWKF1 too....and confirmed SIM display not there... but the thing is... i might be outdated with this... but i tot sim contacts can only store like 100 contacts or sth like that, right? so, to be honest, i never bothered with the sim contacts. everything is now on Gmail/ Google. even before this phone, it was always on phone and sync with outlook. so when this Q came about... i'm surprised ppl store contacts on SIM card. QUOTE(gm0023 @ Aug 26 2011, 03:26 PM) erm.. not specific, mostly 10mins.. and i havent rooted my phone at all, still using the stock rom. apps? only like games, and lookout antivirus, and juice defender only.. but i closed all the applications, and played only the game, the problem still existed. i know that some apps come back even after you supposedly kill it...and why do you need lookout AV for?!? did it happen only recently or since you got the phone...? and when did you get the phone? |

QUOTE(waveweaver @ Aug 26 2011, 03:32 PM) I notice quite a lot of user complain about Inotia 3 and Ninja Jump. Nearly all says the game freeze while playing it. I don't know how to advice as i'm not a gamer. I suggest you uninstall the games or report to its game developer. not sure about ninja jump coz i dun play it.as for inotia 3, occasionally i got get the game hanging and closing on me... but i considered that as normal coz even browsers do that to me.... but statistically speaking... for inotia, its like 1 out of every 8 times i play. but i just restart the game and its fine. |

QUOTE(gm0023 @ Aug 26 2011, 03:56 PM) dun embarrass us and quickly uninstall the AV... lol... ok, this is half kidding post. but i'm serious... unless you're doing illegal stuffs, otherwise, quite safe without an AV.if you install illegally obtained apps... then honestly, i dun think AV is also useful. did it happen when you first got the phone? Added on August 26, 2011, 4:04 pmphone complete no reaction... then what do you do? press and hold the power button? anyway, same advise i give to ppl with windows... when start to act weird, easiest way is to reinstall. and then slowly check as you put back one apps at a time... which one is causing the problem. but i'm not surprised if somehow it could be linked to the AV. just curious... the the rest of the guys... anyone here actually installed an AV on sgs2? QUOTE(waveweaver @ Aug 26 2011, 04:07 PM) Flash player is a plug-in. Some phone comes pre-install mean you dont have to download it from market. For our phone we have to enable it in the browser setting because plug-in default is OFF. Every flash player comes with auto update but for those who disable it (like me) then had to download the updates manually :-P ok, so... my understanding...out of the box for sgs2, its already there. and it should be auto update. so nothing to worry for virgins like me... right? |

QUOTE(gm0023 @ Aug 26 2011, 04:14 PM) im still a newbie in using a smartphone, is installing a downloaded apk file from internet illegal? i mean like something that needs $$ in android market, but free for its apk in the internet. is it illegal? yes... that's called piracy and its illegal (referring to your statement about the apps costing $ and you download the apk for free).Added on August 26, 2011, 4:18 pm QUOTE(waveweaver @ Aug 26 2011, 04:14 PM) Have you enable the plug-in setting either to always on OR on demand? just checked my default browser settings... for plug-ins... always on.Yes i have AV and it's Lookout. It captured quite a few corrupted files already :-) the plugins here refers to flash, i assume? This post has been edited by mydragoon: Aug 26 2011, 04:23 PM |

QUOTE(nicregi @ Aug 26 2011, 05:17 PM) I started sync with mails when I got BB well, i have not installed flash from market for my sgs2. but i did for my transformer. The guy who said that earlier about turning it on or enable plugin could solved it without installing from market. I could be wrong but never try that out so not sure. Could work though. I think the default setting is plugin on demand or some sort. anyway, for my sgs2, so far... all sites seems ok. can load. i guess flash already built in? |
