QUOTE(waveweaver @ Aug 26 2011, 07:47 PM) Yes my phone from the mighty SME. Not rooted just firmware upgraded. :-) aiyoh, I me not that duh la... ;-) **Hint : Go to market > click at my app. (all your apps that need updating will be shown there) I get updated for other apps, just not for flash. seems flash came with the phone. but ya, I guess I can download the latest version from market, just like what I did this morning for the new market apps... but that one was apk. Added on August 26, 2011, 8:32 pm QUOTE(sleepwalker_00 @ Aug 26 2011, 07:27 PM) I have a problem to make call with GS2, when press the 'phone' button at home menu, I didn't see any numeric keypad on the screen, I only see all the log history, and the other 3 categories (contact, group, favourite) lol...this is always the newbie thing. I had the same thing... and the other once is of course answering the first call...Is it suppose to have a numeric keypad to let me make call? Any idea? QUOTE(waveweaver @ Aug 26 2011, 11:53 PM) Hmm., that's quite high for charging only. Unless you use your phone while charging like browsing or gaming, it should be below 40C. ya, it might help if you stop and take out the battery. I remember a few days after I first posted that joke about the heat patch, my phone temp went up around that level while charging. removed the battery and then put back and try again, all ok.But that's okay. Just let it charge first. Your phone can sustain continously at 54C. But if your phone touch that high while charging ONLY then stop the charge, take out you batt around 10 mins then put it back and try charge again. |

QUOTE(basSist @ Aug 27 2011, 12:06 AM) i found that 3g watchdog causing that.. because i updated it before i start to charge my phone that probably explains why I had two updates in the span of a few hours. I thought the new market apps I installed had gone bonkers on me...i reviewed back other ppl comment and complaining about excessive battery and cpu usage they are fixing it @ 0.31 i guess i decided to uninstalled it and when i check back market, the free version i installed previously has gone. found out problem! it is 3g watchdog app bug! |

QUOTE(PhantomThief @ Aug 28 2011, 02:33 PM) Well, it all depends on how you use it and how well you take care of your phone. For example, I was previously on the iPhone 2G for almost 4 years, before I finally switched here to the SGS2. So I know I am capable of taking care of my phone. Also, I will be using my SGS2 as a wifi hotspot quite frequently, so data becomes quite important to me. for me... the reason for suggesting 12mths is... at least after 12mths... if the network becomes congested, etc... then at least can move on to another telco. That's why I took the 2 year rm68 plan, because it's the best fit for me. YMMV also, maybe family member needs a new phone, etc... once contract is up... can sign up for another one. QUOTE(yong88 @ Aug 28 2011, 10:46 PM) hello all, i would like to ask...what is the correct way to charge the sgs2's battery? should i finish the battery until its left +-5% then charge it or i can charge it anytime i want? for eg. when 70% left..i charge the phone? i charge it whenever possible. just like how my notebook is always on direct power unless i'm not at my desk or i'm on the move. |

over the weekend, helped my brother get a htc incredible s.
unfortunately, even after 2 weeks of poisoning him with sgs2, he still said he wanted to get IS. even after i told him that price difference (phone plan with Digi) is only like rm400-500 but the difference between the hardware specs if huge (dual core vs single core, 1GB RAM vs 16GB, super amoled +, etc), he was still adamant on HTC IS. he says he's got no confidence in Samsung... could be that our house Samsung LCD TV died slightly after 12mths (even before finished paying for the MBF installment). but he's happy with the phone... so, ok la... for me... well, at least he's on android. Added on August 29, 2011, 8:35 am QUOTE(erymanthus @ Aug 28 2011, 07:54 PM) personally, i prefer viber... reasons for this:* official rep for viber available on lowyat forum -- he's accepting feedbacks, complaints, etc. * its got lots of plans in the next few months -- multimedia support, video calls, version for BB (that means they would cover the 3 main OS -- WP7 version also supposedly in the works) This post has been edited by mydragoon: Aug 29 2011, 08:35 AM |

when i got home last night, my phone had only about 8% battery left.
plugged it into the power to let it charge. at the same time, i decided to also play Star Legends. At that time, i was on 3G connection. In just about 5 mins... I could feel the phone getting quite hot. Then a low level battery warning came on. Checked the phone battery stats... It's dropped to 5%. Temperature was at 51C. I guess the charging was not enough to sustain the use. So, if anyone needs to try and bump up the temp to 51C, this is one way. Anyway, decided to stop playing and exit the game. phone was still quite hot even 5mins later. so, just decided to shut down the phone, unplug the power, plug back in... ya, temperature after that was at about 40C. |

QUOTE(antt00 @ Sep 2 2011, 08:01 AM) I am currently using dolphin. The last opera i use was lagging abit (forgot which version liau). So i move over to dolphin and have had no reason to try other browser since. tried out the two browsers mentioned many pages back -- xscope and boat.xscope... i somehow found the browser to the 'cluttered'... dunno why. tried boat mini and yesterday, tried out boat browser (the not mini version). i quite like boat now... though i like dolphin's menu located at the sides, i'm kinda getting a hang on boat browser now (the not mini). ans since dolphin's been suddenly closing on me quite a lot lately, i might just do the switch to boat by next week and install dolphin... i'm still going to play around with xscope over the weekend but its unlikely xscope will win me over. |
