your set is sme set?

weird... mine is sme. stock rom. no root.

dun have any prompt for firmware upgrade. no prompt for flash update.

aiyoh, I me not that duh la... ;-)

I get updated for other apps, just not for flash. seems flash came with the phone. but ya, I guess I can download the latest version from market, just like what I did this morning for the new market apps... but that one was apk.

nolar... my flash apps is not listed in the download tab. but I see it under the all tab. that one... no option to update. every option for the flash is greyed out. can't even click uninstall.

in my market apps, under my apps, flash is not listed.

dun think so... I m charging my phone right now and replying in this forum and my phone is at 43°. and just before replying, I was playing some airport game. forgot the name...

but I have noticed sometimes the phone can suddenly get hot. a few times I had the phone in my pocket and I could feel heat...

ya, it might help if you stop and take out the battery. I remember a few days after I first posted that joke about the heat patch, my phone temp went up around that level while charging. removed the battery and then put back and try again, all ok.

that probably explains why I had two updates in the span of a few hours. I thought the new market apps I installed had gone bonkers on me...

personally, I say no coz the discount is not double of the 1yr plan.in fact, for sgs2, the rm48 plan gives the best deal, imho.

for me... the reason for suggesting 12mths is... at least after 12mths... if the network becomes congested, etc... then at least can move on to another telco.

also, maybe family member needs a new phone, etc... once contract is up... can sign up for another one.


i charge it whenever possible. just like how my notebook is always on direct power unless i'm not at my desk or i'm on the move.

over the weekend, helped my brother get a htc incredible s.

unfortunately, even after 2 weeks of poisoning him with sgs2, he still said he wanted to get IS. even after i told him that price difference (phone plan with Digi) is only like rm400-500 but the difference between the hardware specs if huge (dual core vs single core, 1GB RAM vs 16GB, super amoled +, etc), he was still adamant on HTC IS.

he says he's got no confidence in Samsung... could be that our house Samsung LCD TV died slightly after 12mths (even before finished paying for the MBF installment).

but he's happy with the phone... so, ok la... for me... well, at least he's on android.

* official rep for viber available on lowyat forum -- he's accepting feedbacks, complaints, etc.
* its got lots of plans in the next few months -- multimedia support, video calls, version for BB (that means they would cover the 3 main OS -- WP7 version also supposedly in the works)

when i got home last night, my phone had only about 8% battery left.

plugged it into the power to let it charge. at the same time, i decided to also play Star Legends. At that time, i was on 3G connection. In just about 5 mins... I could feel the phone getting quite hot. Then a low level battery warning came on.

Checked the phone battery stats... It's dropped to 5%. Temperature was at 51C.

I guess the charging was not enough to sustain the use.

So, if anyone needs to try and bump up the temp to 51C, this is one way.

Anyway, decided to stop playing and exit the game. phone was still quite hot even 5mins later. so, just decided to shut down the phone, unplug the power, plug back in... ya, temperature after that was at about 40C.

care to share your reasons for this -- boat mini being best? i'm still looking for the best browser and so far... Dolphin HD is the best. but it still has its weaknesses. i only wish there's a FULL CHROME on Android.

tried maxthon on the tablet when i first got my Transformer. din quite like it... stopped using it. maybe i'll revisit it. still on the tablet.

forgot to mention... lots of sgs2 stocks at digi shop in ss2. we were there and i asked abt sgs2 stocks. they said got.

hmmm... might try out boat later. just installed xscope. i find the interface to be quite 'cluttered'. but that's just the first 15secs impression.

i think the rm33 plan ended... can't be sure. if i'm not mistaken, now the cheapest digi plan starts from rm43.

errr... usb charger? i tot sgs2 standard accessories includes the usb cable? then external battery AND extra battery?

white... i recall one owner used a white casing with white sp... from the photo posted, if i recall, it looked quite authentic leh... that was many, many V ago...

tried to search the old V for white, but the post din show up.

can't remember who... maybe if the fella is still following this thread, can repost the photo and maybe others can consider this option? lol...

tried out the two browsers mentioned many pages back -- xscope and boat.

xscope... i somehow found the browser to the 'cluttered'... dunno why.

tried boat mini and yesterday, tried out boat browser (the not mini version). i quite like boat now... though i like dolphin's menu located at the sides, i'm kinda getting a hang on boat browser now (the not mini). ans since dolphin's been suddenly closing on me quite a lot lately, i might just do the switch to boat by next week and install dolphin... i'm still going to play around with xscope over the weekend but its unlikely xscope will win me over.
