I'm using Tasker to do the same thing: data off when screen off, data on and autosync every 20 minutes. It's faster and lighter, and unlike JD it doesn't drain as much as it saves lol. Only drawback is, tasker can't suspend data off if you have streaming apps using data in the bg (they get cut off too).

Only app I'm using for streaming is DI Radio anyway, so I get by with an ugly, ugly hack involving the headphone jack (data off is suspended if the hp jack is used, with other ugly hacks for internal music apps). But ultimately, this isn't optimal.

Also, tasker is a PITA to set up lol.

On the flipside, it's one of the most powerful apps ever. Shame the dev doesn't want to make a special rooted version, which can undoubtedly do even more.

Dev is adamant he wants it usable by all. Which is fine and dandy if not for the fact that most people who use it are rooted to begin with.

thinking of getting SGS2 tomorrow
how the battery life on SGS2? can it last 2 day?
*
It can last 4 days (no kidding here) IF you disable data network. You can still make call and sms. :-P

** NOTE : I personally had done 4 days 11 hours before it ran out of juice.

Yes, with original stock rom you can have atleast 10 - 12 hours of juice with normal use. Unless you do heavy browsing then prepare for around 6 - 8 hours only

call,sms,music,internet. Just normal usage

Just get extra battery - buying a phone based on a 2 days battery life is most unusual. The SGS II will outperform the Xperia Arc by 10 X - so dont expect battery life as good as Arc ; it is dual core and is very fast. The Arc is a tortoise compare to it
If you dont use internet 3 days also can !

Should be.

When I went to SenQ today, there was no more stock. But luckily 1 guy didn't need his unit yet. It was reserved so it came to me instead. Left happy biggrin.gif

I don't think Maxis should have any stock left. Its selling very well.

Thank you~

my battery usage is quite high based on this local stock ROM.. idle in sleep mode can last quite long, but once wake it up and browse the web, facebook, foursquare, market.. drains the battery quite fast. rolleyes.gif

If you get around 8 - 12 hours with that style of using then i would think it's normal. How many hours did you get.?

Please note that screen display, browsing and gaming are three most battery juice gobbler :-)
