I want to know if anyone can help me on this.
My credit card application was rejected for no apparent reason given.
I have cleared and double-check both my CCRIS and CTOS report (even they are puzzled why is this so).
I am earning about RM 150K per annum and I am trying to apply Visa Signature cards.

Please do help and suggest any other means to obtain financial reports or credit score reports.

Thanks

Sometimes, clean CCRIS and CTOS records do not guarantee your card application approval. You may have busted the bank's MUE and failed the utilisation ratio test.

You need to furnish us with a whole lot more to do the diagnostic.
E.g. What banks did you apply for ?, How many cards do you have currently ... each of their exposure, (if any) outstanding amount, age of card, etc.
Loans you have on hand, etc

As the folks said ... if CCRIS and CTOS is already eliminated as a potential cause then it is all related to your risk exposure level. You said so yourself ... credit score reports. This "credit worthiness" report can be internally be built by the bank as your credit information is shared across all other banks. Credit score no good then CC no go.

Note : This will vary from bank to bank as each has their own tolerance setting.

Income and credit checks aren't the only determinants in approving credit cards.

It could also be because you fall under the non-target segment or you fail certain scoring based on info provided in your app form. Such as occupation, nature of business, highest qualification etc etc.

In such instances, it's flat out reject no matter how high your income is.

Hey guys, a noob here. I'm planning to get my first credit card.

My salary goes into CIMB Bank, and i have a Maybank account prior to working. I plan to get the Maybank2, and the normal CIMB generic card, cos its FREE. I'll be spending a lot on petrol, my workplace is 40km away T-T

Just want to clarify, that lets say if i swipe my card, and i pay before the due date, I will not be incurred interest? meaning i swipe 50bucks, i pay in time ill just pay 50bucks.

It's all about credit exposure and risk.

MUE = Maximum unsecured exposure
Utilisation ratio = Outstanding balance vs CL

Yup because there is no interest fee only if you will pay the full amount you swiped within 20 days. If you pay on time but will only pay minimum, there will be interest. If there's delay on payment, there will be interest+late payment fee. Always pay on time and in full, if possible.
