Gf just got her first principal credit card approved. Maybankard 2 Platinum. She earns RM 10k gross monthly nett about 7k+. Maybank gave her CL 20k.

Is that considered ok or low?

It is reasonable.

Yes. That is exactly what i do every time i buy a ticket from them because i am not willing to pay the stupid convenience fee at all  biggrin.gif
*
Not sure if many people does this, whenever I shop in AA website for tickets during weekdays (eg: megasales usually weekdays), I only pay the ticket with accounts. And choose weekend to add on meals, baggage etc with MBB2cards to get additional 5%.

Not bad though if you wish to get additional points too without getting to pay the convenience fee.

I believe Vanderbilt's girlfriend did submit her payslip because it is impossible to get a credit card approved without your latest payslip as supporting document. Maybank no longer allows one to apply for their credit card simply using an existing credit card from another bank as reference for months already.

Yes, she did. As a matter of fact, the branch manager where she maintains her maybank bank account (also the same account where her salary is credited every month by her employer) applied the maybankard 2 platinum for her on pre approved basis. She asked for her 3 months payslip and IC that's all. The branch manager said she can use her salary credit records as support document.

Which credit card u guys prefer for beginner?
Zero Annual fee and low credit limit?

What you mean by beginner? If you read vanderbilt post above, beginner also can get RM20K credit limit and Free For Life annual fees.

How's your CCRIS records? How long have you been working? Is your company a MNC? What is your occupation? Did they call your office or home or mobile phone and no one answered it? You don't have to answer this questions here but just to let you know besides income, there are other criteria that banks look into when they process your application.

But I would like to know which bank rejected your application.

Not that she needs, more of curiosity and she wants to know if she's getting a good deal with Maybank.

From what I observed, OCBC grants higher credit limit as compared to Maybank.

check out this thread http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/741069, post#14 by b00n

If you go to HSBC thread, there's a guy with Platinum card having CL RM3K. Maybe your credit history record is too "clean" haha. Anyway, try CIMB or banks you have accounts with.
