QUOTE(colins @ Sep 7 2011, 07:48 AM) Quick question for Sifus here:- Could someone please advice, thanks. For VLAN bridge/switch purpose alone, which is better option in terms of performance - MicroTik RB250GS or DIR-615? For router purpose, MicroTik RB750G vs D-Link DIR-655, which one do you think is better? Basically I am having a DIR-655 on Streamyx now and is upgrading to Unifi, and wanted to see how I can have the best equipment setup and still use back the DIR-655 if possible. Thanks in advance. |

QUOTE(colins @ Sep 9 2011, 07:27 AM) RB250GS and DIR-615 will have identical performance as a VLAN bridge. RB750G will be better than DIR-655 as a router.. it gives you full control over your network (layer 7 filtering, QoS, b/w limiting, etc.) but you need to learn how to use it properly. Only downside is that you need to pair it with a wifi AP since it doesn't have any onboard wifi. You could use the RB750G + DIR-655 as a wifi AP perhaps. |

Thank you Rizvanrp for your comment and advice, now I have a clearer picture on what to do with the DIR-655.Added on September 9, 2011, 2:55 pmJust read that Unifi now comes with the TM-RND instead of DIR-615. In this case can the TMRND be configured as a VLAN bridge, and would its performance as a VLAN bridge at par with tbe MikroTik RG250? Thanks.
