My unifi is acting strange today. Download is fast but upload is slow?

Hi, just installed Unifi VIP5 today.

Here are my speed test. Is it okie?
I notice most forumer have small ping result. Anyway to improve?

but i got a question here,just now i received a call from tm,they told that they will charge rm200 for something which i not quite understand what's she talking about(as i was awake by the calls )

so does anyone here wat's that rm200 charges for?

During the initial promotion period, standard installation and activation charges worth RM200 will be waived. In addition, the standard package is inclusive of equipment worth RM800 that will also be given free-of-charge to customers. No deposit will be imposed. Only monthly subscription fees for UniFi packages will apply. Telephony usage charges and any purchase of value added services will be charged separately. The duration of standard contracts is 24 months.

i dont receive any sms regarding the downtime. for the past few days after midnight, the internet connection dropped. latest happen today morning around 2am++.

beside sms, can we see it on unifi portal or any website reference?

Right. Some of the download quota imposed by local ISPs are really GILA! 15GB? 20GB? 30GB? What's the point of high speed if you can't download anything with it? Just for normal surfing you can use up 0.5 GB a day or 15GB a month and that is just for one user. Our local ISPs have lost touch of how little a GB is these days with content rich internet. And remember their data calculation is based on download + upload.

VIP5 package comes with 60GB monthly download volume.
VIP10 package comes with 90GB monthly download volume.
VIP20 package comes with 120GB monthly download volume.
The monthly download volume will not be implemented until further notice.
There will be no volume capping for UniFi’s SME packages.

Hey guys,new 10 MBps user here.The workers came over and fixed it today morning.

Im a little disappointed with the download speed though. Internet speed test shows speed of 9.8 Mb/s download and 8.8 upload,but when i tried a test download of a movie from megaupload,the speed is very slow. Tried it with fileserve/filesonic,im getting speeds of about 300 KB/s. Im using Internet Download Manager to download btw.

I know 300 KB/s is still quite fast,but im paying for 10 MB/s and was hoping for at least 500 KB/s. Any idea why its like this?

Just a normal user. I want to try the normal firefox click link download after this instead of using IDM and see if there is any difference. Will torrents be better? I remember it being throttled badly..

normally non premium customer the speed are cap by the storage service provider, not by TM

hey guy ,unifi got minimum payment every month? because that day i use house phone to call out for rm 1.45 then the out standing need to pay is rm 11.45 may i know the rm 10 is what charges, is it every month once i use the house phone then they will charge me on the rm 10 or how? please advice me.

ya this is my 1st bill, which mean i just need to pay for the 1st time for the rm 10 stamp duty, or every month? i saw that unifi only can download 60gb per month if i over the quota is there any charges?

Is anyone having slow Fileserve downloads? Tried WU and it's okay. My FS is premium some more. Only happened 2 days ago.

I have tried all filesonic, filserve, wupload, etc, all around 5KB/s ~15KB/s since last night. Complaint and have to be tortured again to go thru their checklist !!!!

TM technician didn't call but their call center made a courtesy call saying they'll call again the soonest to make an appointment. aiyah!!! bad start with unifi.

1. will they terminate my existing streamyx next business day as the unifi was done on a sat?
2. can ask for rebate for the no service days (now 2nd day already)?
3. how reliable is the technician appointments (1/2/3/5/7 days later)?
4. anything else i can try to troubleshoot?

There is nothing wrong with UniFi actually.

But the TM DNS server is lagging, it affects all TM subscribers - UniFi, Streamyx, etc.

Use Google DNS 8.8.8.8 for the time being. It will resolve the problem you're facing. But if it doesn't, then you probably have other issues with your connection.

May I ask is it really must terminate current telephone line if I'm changing from streamyx to unifi?

hi there, im planning to upgrade my streamyx to unifi..im staying in condo..so do i cancel my streamyx n terminate my current phone line first or after the unifi is install then onli i cancel?? is the free 1 month subscription only apply to user that register via online?? im tinking going down to tm point to register unifi + terminate streamyx in 1 go..pls advise..thx..
