yok70,

Because my profit has reached 106%, so I should lock it in already. Futhermore, I feel it is a little overpriced at current value, so it is time to be careful.

I see. Any profit is good profit. thumbup.gif
As for myself, I use dividend yield to judge REIT's valuation. biggrin.gif

1) But why 'unrealised'? Why does it appear in income statement, and not balance sheet?

2) My question is: which one is more important when we evaluate the fund?
*
It appears in both.
If not, how to balance the book. biggrin.gif

Balance sheet increases in term of fixed asset value column.

To evaluate a fund, assess the balance sheet is healthy or not aka be sure healthy cashflow, manageable debt level, then how much yield one can get.

All are important factors to look at, we cannot look at sole alone figure to evaluate.

My goal is long term, do nothing and just collect dividend. Thanks.

wait till the order status is matched, this mean that some one has sold you the price that u asked for and the trxn will then consider complete.
after that check your stock on hand see if u possess that stock/reits in yr portfolio.

CP88,

Sorry for the wrong term used. I should say my capital appreciation is 106%. I think my net profit is about 130% including dividends.

CP88,

I'm using a junk of the sale of AXREIT to play a different investment, buying a tractor (backhoe) tongue.gif I am considering to utilise the rest to buy aggressive stocks. I still have my ATRIUM and AMFIRST, so that should be enough dividend stock for me at the moment.

You do know that Starhill REIT's dividends are artificially boosted on that chart due to a one-off gain from disposal of assets right? Based on predicted dividends, I think its true dividend yield is about 6% to 6.5%.

I am having the financial statements of Starhill REIT. Please may I know which line are you referring to.

I do know that ARREIT's earning for 2011 was boosted by 'unrealized gain from revaluation of properties', which I assume is one-off.

Congratulations on the 130% profits.

My guess, your Axreit purchase date should be in 2008. tongue.gif

So what kind of "aggressive stocks" stock that you are looking at?
