currently my batt life can last about 1 day with once charge
need to disable packet data during working hour (coz can browse at desktop) & during sleep to prolong batt life
other than working & sleeping hour, need to enable again packet data

Congrats for V20.

Anyway i'm still stuck with 2.1 (Eclair). Phone can't be detected (installed the USB driver like the first page, still can't). Can't go to recovery / download mode (tried few steps shown in the first page, didn't work also).

Guess the only solution is to get the Download Mode USB. Is it available at Lowyat Plaza? Or just drop by Samsung centre? Did they offer flashing services? hmm.gif

I think you should just get to the Samsung Centre and have them flash it for you. I believe they'll flash gingerbread straight into your phone, and you could ask them on if there's a problem connecting the phone to the pc. smile.gif

did u try installing the latest kies software? ... uninstall everything and do a fresh install, the kies contains all the required drivers ...

ok ic3joker, here are my current steps to flash to GB, tell me if there's anything wrong with it..

from CM7:

1) flash XXJVQ with bootloaders via Odin (without disabling lagfix) (*dont know how to disable lagfix for CM7)
2) flash galaxian kernel to get access to root
3) flash latest nightlies
4) flash gapps
5) flash custom kernel

1. remember use 513pit and tick repartition in odin3. no need to disable lagfix there is no lagfix in cm7.
the rest are correct.

added easier way at first page. search "flashing bootloader" on first page. again do it on your own risk. that is more risky than flashing XXJVQ with bootloader. you might hard brick your phone if you make mistake.

hi guys I have a problem with my SGS again sigh. My phone suddenly reboots by itself and constantly stuck at the restart screen. My phone is rooted and I'm running 2.3.4 atm with F1 SGS2 rom installed. Any help regarding this problem? I googled for the solution but most of the threads online ends up without any answer.

edit: and yeah I couldnt get to the desktop of the phone

any word of an Ice-Cream Sandwich update for the SGS?

rom problem? try go into recovery wipe data ,cache and dalvik cache.

Yups! had the latest KIES. Tried install to different PC and laptop. Still the same.

IMO, 2.3.4 is most probably the last version of android to be released as samsung will want to concentrate on sgsii.

however, since we get strong support from cyanogenmod, (now at 2.3.5) it is very likely that we'll get ice cream sandwich update when it comes end of this year.

Personally, I don't worry of not getting updates at all.
