Been there, done that. I find that it's really pointless having Juice Defender to disable your data.

Either you use it, or you don't. Having a program to enable and disable it at an interval, meaning you are better off not using any IM, such as WhatsApp, Skype, YM, Messenger, Gtalk and such.
I jumped from cm7 #85 to #104. battery life has greatly improved. the Green Power battery saver app no longer works with it. So I had EDGE switched on all the time. the battery drain seems tolerable. Wifi drain is also good 8% drain in 7 hours!

On the latest cm7 nightlies, I no longer need app like green power battery saver or juice defender.

I've tried many of the lockscreen shown in the video, really creative. But it seems like there are more/newer lockscreens I need to test thumbup.gif

I couldn't remember exactly - can't give you numbers, but I need to have my cable ready and charge many times throughout the day on #85 if I don't use Green Power app

On #104, idle battery drain is a lot less. Even when I browse, drain is good even without battery saving app.

normally, the ROM is designed specifically for i9000...
if SL, i donno if it compatible or not. The steps/files might be differ.
better refer to its own thread for further detail, http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2000011

Update to GB 2.3.4, GB 2.3.3 got battery drain issue.

But, isn't 2.3.4 for Europe version only?
I don't know how to update to 2.3.4. I update GB2.3.3 via "Kies".
Sorry, I'm not as good as you guys. blush.gif

I feel that Simplicity gives good battery life, or maybe it was just me.

I stopped using Latitude and the battery usage has dropped tremendously, seriously a lot a lot of difference. There was once, after I rebooted phone, while connected to wifi (at home), the battery drain was barely 1% after 2 hours+. I keep checking the phone once a while and noticed the % never dropped! So I left the phone in non-airiplane mode to see the consumption.

Another thing is, uninstall your Skype. Once you run it, it will have a service stayed in background, even after you have disconnected. So, Skype sucks juice, literally.

On average now, my battery can last 1 day, from morning 90% till 20% in the evening on 3G with minimal usage.

That was because you have previously restored your MMS.

If you only restore SMS, you won't have this problem. So it has nothing to do with Messaging, ROM or whatnot.
