i use foobar with laptop soundcard ok already..hehe..thespeaker damn good..today i just got the t muso usb dac..the thing is, the usb dac that i have now works very well with earphones, but pairing with the A5, it increases the bass which i think already powerful enuff hence i have to use some equalizer to decrease some bass (i'm not a basshead) tongue.gif

yeah, last time i totally dig their A5 but totally no way of finding reliable distro to send it over to EastM, in the end settle for another speakers which I feel lacked the low end, unlike reviews of A5 mentioning that A5 is superb at LE. sigh.

A5 does hav some bass but when plying batman Dark Knight OST, the bass so low, the woofer starts to make "cling-cling" sound sweat.gif macam tak larat...

I've never listen Bx5A Deluxe before, doesnt know what it sounds like, but according to many forums says Bx5A are better at electronic music coz its bass response is fast right?
A5 are more soothing to ear when playing vocal, piano dat type of music.

Actually I was comparing Bx5A Deluxe, A5 and KRK Rokit 5 G2 before, but in the end buy A5 coz no nid convert my PC output to balanced, maybe balanced will have better sound hmm.gif

the bass is fast on the BX yeah, but that further emphasize its inability to hit low, cant even compensate with quantity haha. But I absolutely loved the imaging tho, really "realistic" so to say.

am thinking of adding an AE S8 to it, but again, cash problem tongue.gif and S8 is so ex! 349USD. any idea how much malaysia distro sell S8 for?

to Audioengine A5 users...i heard some review stating the unit becomes very hot after playing for 40 minutes continously and will shut down ??. Do you guys face this problem ?

Also is the volume knob long lasting ? It seems very plasticky & fragile

The price is + too, lucky I get old model later maybe discontinue. A5+ new features that I don't need much but better for ipod, iphone user I think.

depend how u place your speaker..A2 is best for a desktop speaker for close distance..while A5, make sure the distance you listen your speaker not too close on you as A5 sound will be overpowering...A5 best for place on living hall or large space around you...in term of performance, of course A5 alot better than A2...

But this time me put it over 2/3 to try it can go loud as it can, but after cooled down about 4-5 minutes it got sound back. I just find out rocks song make A5 more fast heat than techno/trance song if put over 2/3 volume.

The heat/shutdown issue you face is something affected by some users also if check the online forums. Nothing much you can do about it. Its like a fail safe feature.

The issue will get when play too loud, normally play a5 1/3 wmp 1/2 windows 1/2 just fine. That time a5 volume at 2/3 wmp full windows full, really2 loud like kenduri kawin sound haha.

A5+ rm1500 at digital audio studio

i have audioengine 2...duplicate signature sound as a5...what i can say...smooth mid....sweet high....decent low....[refinement of singer's vocal very2 good(some say it was exceptional)...it was like he singing in front of us]

you will also find that A5's sound very clean and help you to differentiate each instrument in music...separation of them is excellent....

want compare with s730d...it's really different league..better you go hear urself...

that all my though <-- noobie

that y i say bro....if u wan compare a5 with edifier s730d...it totally different league...cuz edifier got subwoofer....it is 2.1 system...but a5 is 2.0 system...it mean the bass will very weak if wan compare with the edifier.....
in 2.0 category then....a5 is one of the best speaker in provide bass... smile.gif

however...u still can add subwoofer later on a5...audioengine also provide subwoofer to the a5....beware subwoofer in this speaker class quite expensive...about RM1300...

digital audio studio address at comment above..at there u can test the a5

from what i reading....from whathifi(very famous hi-fi tester) subwoofer from audioengine not really do well and lack of bass definition....but still decent with the price....just got better option...and for the better option u need to refer to really knowledge person to choose a really well subwoofer to suite with audioengine 5....

the subwoofer at this price really powerful(to make sure it can compete with audioengine 5 capability)....if u live in rumah taman....and play loudly at night....i can guarantee police will come to ur house thumbup.gif

one more thing....although bass of AE5 weak....but from what i heard.....the bass sounded very accurate.....they can produce very good timbre of each instruments...that mean u can differentiate how each genre of music will sound with greatly...for example....when u listen to nasyid sound....u will aware how peaceful sound they produce.....when u listen to metal sound...u also will aware how aggresive/evil sounded the metal song...this is called ambience...timbre or watever....audiophile really know how to differentiate between high, normal, low quality music sounded....that y they very praise audioengine speakers to the world....because of the quality sound that they can produce...not because they want promote audioengine product like what jerk ppl says.....

Hi guys, I just got a pair of A5+ speakers at the weekend. I went over to DAS in Pudu. They are in the process of moving upstairs at the moment but their audition room upstairs is setup and fine. When I arrived they were demoing the A2's for someone then he showed me the A5+'s he also said that the overheating problem of the A5's has been solved with the plus. The sound was amazing, If you are thinking of getting a pair pop over there and have a listen for yourself. The guys who were there to buy A2s even ended up getting the A5+s instead!
I was only planning on buying the A5+s but when he showed me them running with the AS8 sub it just sounded so good that I ended up buying the sub as well. I also got a USB DAC while I was there as this setup is being used with my 27" Imac.

Bought the AudioEngine A5+ along with the AS8 from Digital Audio Studio. The sound quality coming out from this speakers is an absolute far cry from my old logitech speakers, and pairs along nicely with my Xonar soundcard. At the moment adjusting the subs crossover for the best middleground for all my media, games and movies.

I just purchased a desktop rubber stand for my aktimate mini from DAS. Had a short conversation with Mr Chin. He's a very nice guy to talk with so i end up staying a little longer than expected.

Hope to hear from your feedback. biggrin.gif

my friend just auditioned the ae5 at tong lee lowyat, he told me the clarity is great but the bass is weak (he's basshead) and the uncle dont give a proper setup to ae5 to ensure its fully capabilities. The funny thing is, the uncle said to my friend that there is two types of ae5, one without built in sub and one with built in sub(LOLWUT??) and the price is rm1.9k per pair. LOL.

The aktimate Mini is alot better sounding than the AE5s and the AE5+.

The AE5s need a little room to 'breathe' in order to sound their best while the Aktimates can be used for nearfield or at a more relaxed distance.

They aktimates are deeper and taller than the AE5s however, makes things a little tricky to position, especially in a crowded deskspace.

The Aktimate Micro is my absolute favourite however. Smaller than the AE5s and bigger than the AE2. They are clearer and more detailed than the AE2s while their bass cannot match the Mini or AE5, they present bass in a more controlled and accurate manner, making the AE5s almost sound muddy. I've owned the AE5s and now the AE2 as well.

When I was in Melbourne I was a close friend of a retailer who stocked the Aktimates as well as some other speakers, and I visit his shop quite often for a chat and thus I'm exposed to his range of product as well. To me, the Aktimates are a pedigree above the Audioengines. But the Audioengines are no slouch as well, all highly recommended.

The focal XS book might be more expensive than that locally here given the price it already is overseas.

The XSbook looks kinda like the Creative T40 speakers which are very decent in their own right but nowhere near as good as a proper powered bookshelf speaker.

Focal however are a much more reputable audio brand that seems to be doing well as of late. Their Spirit One headphone is also getting alot of good rep.

Hey wilzc, I Have not try akimate Mini. Looking forward to meet the beauty.

About AE5s, the speaker do need more rooms, I try borrowing some acoustic panels and places it at the back of the wall to minimize the bass by bouncing back to reduce the heavy or muddy bass (If you get what i mean).. I'll get use to it =)

i think XSbook is more to hi-fi speaker than creative t40....creative brand only prominent in dekstop speaker world....absolutely not same level as focal which is more to proper hi-fi...

yes...u true about XSbook is not near as a proper powered bookshelf speaker...but for quality & sound, i think it can achieve that level....because the price with perfomance ratio is acceptable by many audiophile...

in addition, proper powered bookshelf speaker give 1 big problem for me....my house is really small....also many neighbor beside....if use something powerful and big like that.....they will be some noise bothering them...especially the bass will shake the wall...if not great...

that y i want something that small...not powerful....but efficient and clear enough to replace my current speaker now....ae2....ae2 is good actually....if use with decent sound card....i use asus xonar dx....claimed as high-fidelity sound card(SNR 116db)....produce clear & beautiful sound...but the problem is....the woofer push too hard and distort a bit....it produce brr brrr brrrr krrr krrr noise.....haih...really anoyying... shakehead.gif

i got see about aktimate micro specification in their website....the amplifier is class D?? i think it is normal amplifier that use in dekstop speaker....how can they put lower class amplifier class in aktimate micro and sell it so pricey?? i think for the price they should provide class A or AB ampilfier....hmm....something that really make me curious....is the amplifier can affect the quality sound?? or not?

they also provide pcm2074....so the micro is built in dac powered speaker? and now my sound card will be useless??? correct if im wrong....

i think audioengine p4 is very good if pair with warm amplifier....because it more to bright sounding...NAD always make warm/bass heavy amplifier ....

audioengine always more focuse on smooth, soft and mid bass manner....and less about detail and clarity...however still punch a lot detail compare to mediocre speaker...so make sure it suit with ur taste...

Aktimate might be putting a DAC into the Mini as well.

If they can fit a USB DAC into the much smaller micro, they definitely can put one into the Mini and therefore there are plans for that, AFAIK, talking to the Australian distributors. Shouldn't be long now, I was told about this a few months ago.

But again the DAC won't be the best DAC you'll ever find, just functional and decent, like the ones in the Maxi and Micro.

For desktop purposes I feel the micro is insanely good.

I prefer them compared to the AE5s or the AE2s. The AE5s are more powerful but the micros have control, and a touch more power than the AE2s.

But it all really depends on personal preference, space and setup.

are the aktimate micro and mini is forward type sounding? i mean the vocal and instrument playing from them is forward type? audioengine making voice sound sweet...but it was laid back...they tend to presence bass before the mid and high..so not so gud if play slowly....not so gud partner with my sound card that making sound more laid back..although the sound card open up the sound..
if the aktimate micro/mini is forward type sounding(opposite signature sound with audioengine)...so its great combination...
im like to play music at average sound(due listem them in bedroom only)...but hoping new set speaker can give clear detail even play with slowly...so if the aktimate is bass presence type..it may not suit me...cuz neeed to push loud to hear clarity...
hope u can help me...i just can depend on someone preferene to buy speaker..cuz far from capital city...here no place to audition...

im like to play music at average sound(due listem them in bedroom only)...but hoping new set speaker can give clear detail even play with slowly...so if the aktimate is bass presence type..it may not suit me...cuz neeed to push loud to hear clarity...
hope u can help me...i just can depend on someone preferene to buy speaker..cuz far from capital city...here no place to audition...
*
yeah it has foward sounding. the aktimate also can play nicely at low volume too.

How does A5/5+ compare to M Audio AV40? I know the price difference is kinda big but how does it perform? I mainly listen to hip hop song. Look for something to replace my crappy 2.1 setup

you can install the 3phase by calling TNB. The charges varies according to ur house. Its is the way to enjoy stable and clean electricity. Its good for ur other electronics appliances too.

Mp3 is so yesterday. Please go for .FLAC, if not you are wasting the rm1.5k that you would spend on any speakers. For others recommendation, please head to the pinned section icon_rolleyes.gif

Ive been using A2 + Centrance DACport for a while, and i must say its a pretty darn good speaker.

THe thing that bothers me a lil is that you need to be sitting directly in front of the speaker / table. If not, the speaker will sound muffled.

So if you're planning to sit further from the table / with friends on a couch or something, u wont get to hear the 'extra details'.

A simple review from me on my setup~ (sorry for my not professional review whistling.gif )

Audioengine A5+ Speakers:
These speakers is not too big and not too small either. What I really like about these speakers is that, the woofer for this speakers does not come with a grill but yet it looks totally great with it. You don't really have to afraid someone or your kids might a little bit itchy hand and touch the woofer because the quality build of it is superb and enclosure for it is VERY SOLID (Not kidding thumbup.gif). Some little things I do not like is that the power cable is a little bit short (hoping is a little bit longer about 0.5m?) but the other cables are good like it comes with a RCA gold plated plug. It comes with a USB port, usually I just use it to charge my phone and and AUX port. They have a remote control for volume, sleep mode and mute but I often use the remote to control the volumes. Just happen recently, there are holes on the volume up and down button due to too often using it. The buttons are actually like some sort of bubble button, I don't know what is original called but it is still working perfectly fine. Hopefully they come out with a better remote buttons.

So let's go to the sound quality wise. The high note of the speaker is good, where you can get to listen to clear vocals or some high notes of instrumental music. The mids are good too... The lows are superly good where you can somehow feel that you had extra subwoofer but you're not, is just too good and hard to believe. My first expression when I audition is like "WOW shocking.gif", you must be kidding me... This speakers can go real loud without distortion... But in order for you to reach optimum sound quality of the speaker you have to put your speakers about 0.4m away from the back of the wall~

Audioengine D1:
With this installed, you will be able to notice the difference without it but it wont be a huge difference. The treble and bass will increase in terms of clarity highs and mids and the lows you will be able to hear sharper and clearer details of the music/song and feel a deeper punch bass. If you're connected to a PC, remember to set the settings to 24bit, 96000 Hz (Studio Quality), this is for windows 7.

Audioengine S8 Subwoofer:
If you are looking for extra bass and in a small enclosure subwoofer then this is the one. A 11" square enclosure with a 8" subwoofer. The wood of the enclosure is VERY SOLID like the A5+ Speakers. They look down on this small subwoofer. Just that it is small and thinking it won't be able to perform well? I can tell you that you're wrong. The 8" subwoofer can shake things up in your house. Is a very very very powerful bass. A small woofer like this able to produce deep, accurate and solid bass. I went down to lower flower I can even hear the bass beat even though the volume of the song is low and had my room door close. Try imagine if is in a loud volume drool.gif

* So this is my short review, hope you guys enjoy it =)

Hi Audioengine owners,

This is in regard with A5 model.

I bought Audioengine A5 in 2007 and it worked well in all circumstances. Few day back I left it powered on overnight (usually I switch of when I don't use it) and the next day morning I found that it was not working. And I noticed the rear side was overheated. As I'm an Electronics Engineer, I opened the cabinet, measured the out put voltage from the toroidal transformer and there is no voltage. When I checked the connectivity, the primary side(between WHITE and RED) of the transformer is open. I guess this damage happened because of the voltage fluctuation in the power distribution in my area (230v, 50Hz).

I asked Audioengine team to repair it. Since A5 speaker model was discontinued, they don't have the this type of transformer with them. I got same reply when wrote to local re-seller. Having more curious to repair my A5 and love it, I also asked the Chinese manufacture who supplied the transformer to Audioengine. They also don't have stock of that transformer.

Now I find this Audioengine owners group through google. As a last try, I would like to ask, if any one of this forum readers having non-working A5 with the transformer in good condition? If so will you be able to sell the transformer to me? (I live in Chennai, India)

Here is the A5 transformer specification:
Primary: 230v 50Hz
Secondary : 19v-0-19v , 0-10, 15v-0-15v

Thanks and Regards,
Thangavel

Thanks and Regards,
Thangavel

Hi people~ Been thinking a question about the A5+ recently. Is it worth it to buy the speakers and to use in a living room for tv? I come to notice it does gives good sound in the audition but the thing is the room is kinda empty so i suppose the sound will be more focus. If i am to bring it home and play movie, should it sound as good as in hifi music? Also about in future with additional speakers with an amp, will it work that time?

Audio Engine A5+ can go really deep and it has adequate power to push up to 8' x 12' room. But if for movies and if you wanna go deeper, match the S8 subwoofer smile.gif

And since it is an active speakers, it can't be added to an amplifier

soundstick cannot beat a5.. it just sounded so thin, the vocal is pretty hopeless. Better save more for other speaker. a5+ 1 of the best for it's price.

Please ignore the speakers setting, I know it's a bad setting but it's temporary. Will get a proper speaker stand and replace the position of my book shelf with that. Anyway, I don't get it when people complained bout the lack of bass as for me, the bass coming out from the speaker are adequate enough, if not at times can be a bit overwhelming. I did get the whole set (DAC + S8 Sub), but most of the time I didn't turn the sub on (if I do, I only set it to like 1/10 of its volume) as it is too much for my ears to handle. But again, I'm not really a bass fan and most of the time I listen to music (.flac / 320kb mp3s) and occasionally some movies. Even when I listen to my analogue set, I always set my Marantz to 'Source Direct'. tongue.gif

As for first impression, these speaker sounded really good in the audition room but when I plugged in mine fresh out of the box, the bass (as the bass from the speaker not the sub) is a bit boomy to my liking, and on certain songs, murky. Audioengine suggest at least 30-50 hours burn in, but I'll stick with my 200 hours. Will come back with results after the burn-in and as soon as I figure out the speaker's positioning (this speaker needs a really good position, especially in a small room like mine). But all in all, I can say it's a really good speaker. Worth every cents spent! Go frigging get it! biggrin.gif

I didn't audition the AktiMate Mini but have a chance to test the AktiMate Micro. To be frank, I adore the AktiMate Micro more than the Audioengine. It's really good with vocal and the mid-range is lively and super sweet. The only reason why I opted out with the Audioengine is because it sounds better on the type of music I listen to the most. I did bring my benchmark CDs (The S.I.G.I.T - Hertz Dyslexia EP / Terrorizer - World Downfall / Orchid - Capricorn) to audition both speakers and found that Audioengine surpass the AktiMate Micro when it comes to agility, speed, consistency and details smile.gif

Hi all, I'm looking to upgrade my pc audio to another level.

Currently been using logitech's speakers 5.1 for a very long time, I think it's time to toss out the bulkiness of these speakers and get something good for my room space. Just recently bought a 42" LG TV which is connected to my pc O_O

Any suggestion for a budget friendly speaker? is A2 the best choice? or A2+ would be better? thanks!

Hi, does anyone know what's the current price for A2 right now? I live in Melaka so it will be a bit hard to visit the store.

I usually use headphones but lately I've been watching a lot of movies on the PC with my wife so I might as well get a decent speaker.

Thanks!

Planning to get a Aune T1, but seems like is wasting the amp function, still thinking, any recommendation?

Bought a used S8 that day, too bad is faulty, Mr Chin does not have the part to fix it, can only try the luck of repairing it.

Hello peeps, something wrong with the volume knob on my A5. Initially when I turn the volume up, it made some cracking noise then the sound started getting slower on the left speaker and now only the right one is working. I can still hear some sound coming out from the left speaker but it is super soft. How?

The Audioengine A5+ works perfectly with TV and music. Not necessary to S8 unless you really need the extra weight

Which one you bought? Go sell at Garage Sales then.
The speakers are good, many will not mind getting it second hand at cheaper price from you.

Hi all, I'm, thinking of changing my current set up to the Audioengine A5+ with the S8 subwoofer.

Currently I'm using the Corsair SP2500. Is the Audioengine A5+ really worth the price over the SP2500?

It's almost 3 times the price of the SP2500. Anyone here have any experience between the 2?

Stereo sound, A few HDMI sources to TV, and use TV as audio out to the A5+

Loud yes, losing the sound stage, detail and the punch. It's like the sound stopped half way.

haha thing is I wasn't ready for bookshelf speakers, these speakers are really awesome, but they are abit too big on my desk. I came from soundsticks 3, and as you know the soundsticks are so small in size lol.

I thought they could fit, but they just take up too much space on my desk.

Very nice sound tho, crystal clear with very good bass from the subwoofer.

Have u tried the connecting the TV with other speakers too, or connecting the A5+ to other devices? The TV could be the prob, especially if it's a cheap one. I am thinking that the room size could be the cause too. Is it a very big hall? Lol. Anyway, these are what I can advise. Should refer to more professional advice or the seller if it still doesn't solve it. smile.gif

Not if the TV is a premium TV like the Sony Smart TV KDL-32W674A. I'm using it now. The sound quality is much better than the computer's integrated sound chip. suppose DAC that supports HDMI is rare though, can consider using other methods to output sound.

If im going to invest in this speakers, should I get a soundcard?

My PC has the space for soundcard

then do I need a DAC? I have seen some videos of the A2+ and I think I will use the USB cable

Im getting bigger speakers as it acts as my "hifi" system in the room.

Sound card is already a DAC actually. Depending on ur usual usage, if you aren't setting up a surround sound setup, you are better off with a DAC from audiophile audio brands, which would have better sound quality comparing to the computer audio brands like Creative.

I haven't really tested a high-end computer sound card before, but I doubt the sound quality is comparable with the audiophile audio brands. The computer sound cards are usually suited for gaming, or movies. Do let me know if you happen to find one that's comparable.

I think you'd be hard-pressed to find a 5.1 surround DAC from the audiophile brands though.

Hi, needs some advice.

My budget ard 2k and planning to get a system for my desktop PC. Mainly for music and games.

Initially thinking to get Swan M50w but is very difficult to find. My desk is not big so can't get big speaker like A5+.

A2+ shd be good enough. Now my question is I wanted to pair with a sub and I know there is S8 but it will exceed my budget.

Do u guys have any recommendation? Anyone with A2+ and sub other than S8?

Pls advice. Thanks.

Hi mox123, suggest you check out the sound quality urself. To me, A2+ is not really that good, i rather take Bose Companion 2 even though many said it is overpriced. A5+ is a huge jump though, I was struggled too and ended up buying P4 with Amp N22.

To be frank, I am a bit regret as P4 is lacking in bass. I am not true audiophiles, but even that i still not fully satisfied with the money spent. Besides, I also found that N22 amp is slightly inferior compare to the built-in amp directly from my Asus Pro Gamer motherboard. Although the difference is very minor, but both myself and my gf can still differentiate it by listening thru M50x headphone....

Overall if I can choose again, probably I will just buy the A5+ or upgrade to Bose Companion 5.

I bought my speaker NOV 2013 from webshop & that webshop is closed down already....where should I send my speaker for repair? ( I am from Penang )

Guys, i bought a new one d since nobody is selling their used unit. biggrin.gif

Tested for about 20mins, so far so good, but not impressed.

Currently connects it to my Asus xonar sound card. Does dac produce much better sound than sound card?

How much you bought it now? Which xonar sound card?
D1 DAC can improve the sound.

I had the same impression when I test my new unit with the seller's demo unit. The demo/old one sounds much better.
You need to let the speaker "burn in". That's why nobody selling their used unit cause it sound better as it aged. rclxm9.gif

I believe it's the best option now for this price range, unless you've found a better one.

ASUS Xonar is a DAC too, to be exact. Not sure about ASUS Xonar internal sound card, but based on experience, most likely it wouldn't sound as good as other external DAC. And I'm not talking about those that cost few thousands.

Are there any stores with HD3 demo units?

Deciding between the HD3 & A2+..
The reviews seem to describe the HD3 sound as 'more refined' vs the A2+. Keen to try them out before making a decision!

Hi Reubs, apology for the delayed response. Hope that this might still help. We are mainly operating online and on-site at the moment, so we do not have a physical shop yet. We are the main reseller currently who provide advice and support online. However, audition can still be arranged if still needed. smile.gif

I have a perfect condition AudioEngine s8 subwoofer that i am selling. Make me an offer.
I also have a pair of A5's that are not as loud as it used to be but I think that can be rectified quite easily.

Make me an offer for one or all of them. Will leave that up to you.

Thanks smile.gif

After 7 year of usage my audioengine A5 developed the infamous popping and crackling when it is activated (no self-shut dead)/No input state/volume min to max makes no difference.
The first symptoms is very low volume (maxed out on volume knob) when operating from cold state, after a while (amps getting hot) the volume gained and become normal loudness (you can lower the knob now). Then after further usage hours(in my case, months) later, the popping and crackling comes and goes randomly. The final stage is popping and crackling non-stop from cold state.
Below are my findings while opening the back plane and checking out at the amps boards. Some caps were blown (obviously). One resistor looks blown too (might be just the foam melted on it). Overall i will try to replaced all the blown caps and resistors, see if it will resurrect the A5 dry.gif (of course I need to find a shop to do this)

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

If anyone can recommend me good audio/electronic shop that can replaced those caps with extra durability and heat capacity would be very grateful for your help thumbup.gif notworthy.gif (maybe custom upgrade those electronic components too)

Thanks for reading my report so far nod.gif

Double check all connections to the passive speaker. Some problems occur because connection isn't proper, could be the wire connecting between the two, and loose terminals at the passive/active side inside the speaker box.

I had the same problem with my A5.
Took out the amp, replaced it with Aiyima amp.
Still using the original toroid and crossover board.

No volume control for now, but I have a DAC-AMP so not a problem for me.

Nope, still an active speaker, as the amp is in the speaker. biggrin.gif
For the amp that I'm using, I connect the output of the amp to the crossover board of the speaker. I cut the crossover board from the original amp board.
As for the input, I use the top auxiliary connector to the new amp.
Unfortunately I did not take any pictures of my amp replacement. blush.gif
But you could refer to this thread for the general idea.

ok thanks for the info bro..appreciate it..at least i can look at the amp area very closely...my 1st tot is the other part of the board (i think the small dac board)....if i have the time, i'm thinking of replacing all the ics/caps (tda7294,ka7805 and etc) if that will do any good..LOL

I think that's the preamp board. It could be it that causes the problem. I cant find other 3rd party that will fit in the speaker.

Hey guys. Tan here. Been an Audioengine user for quite a number of years. Anyone knows a place to repair the S8 subwoofer? Mine is still powered but no longer works. All I get is a faint buzz type thumping in tune to the music.
