yeah, last time i totally dig their A5 but totally no way of finding reliable distro to send it over to EastM, in the end settle for another speakers which I feel lacked the low end, unlike reviews of A5 mentioning that A5 is superb at LE. sigh.

what speaker you get in the end??

M-Audio BX5a, 1300+ too. great imaging but lacks the LE oomph (VERY weak bass when sits further than 1.5m away) really hurts tongue.gif

i am using the deluxe version, but bass really = =`` tried quite a few tips from LYN forumers for improving bass response but to no avail, maybe really need a sub

A5 does hav some bass but when plying batman Dark Knight OST, the bass so low, the woofer starts to make "cling-cling" sound sweat.gif macam tak larat...

I've never listen Bx5A Deluxe before, doesnt know what it sounds like, but according to many forums says Bx5A are better at electronic music coz its bass response is fast right?
A5 are more soothing to ear when playing vocal, piano dat type of music.

Actually I was comparing Bx5A Deluxe, A5 and KRK Rokit 5 G2 before, but in the end buy A5 coz no nid convert my PC output to balanced, maybe balanced will have better sound hmm.gif

After 7 year of usage my audioengine A5 developed the infamous popping and crackling when it is activated (no self-shut dead)/No input state/volume min to max makes no difference.
The first symptoms is very low volume (maxed out on volume knob) when operating from cold state, after a while (amps getting hot) the volume gained and become normal loudness (you can lower the knob now). Then after further usage hours(in my case, months) later, the popping and crackling comes and goes randomly. The final stage is popping and crackling non-stop from cold state.
Below are my findings while opening the back plane and checking out at the amps boards. Some caps were blown (obviously). One resistor looks blown too (might be just the foam melted on it). Overall i will try to replaced all the blown caps and resistors, see if it will resurrect the A5 dry.gif (of course I need to find a shop to do this)

If anyone can recommend me good audio/electronic shop that can replaced those caps with extra durability and heat capacity would be very grateful for your help thumbup.gif notworthy.gif (maybe custom upgrade those electronic components too)

Thanks for reading my report so far nod.gif
