I dont know the details of that said chip actually

about the volume reducing thingy, maybe i used the wrong words lol. its not BS. I mean the radio should not have this issue in d first place so the volume wont reduce suddenly everytime there is noise
*
Yes, I agree.... the HU shld not have such issue, and thus why XCInspire have gone to Clarion several times to find solution to this.... and yes, this is a chip and Clarion issue...

But then, some owners that have changed to other brands of HU have also similar problems.... maybe need more feedback from other owners who have changed to branded HU instead of those china based dual din lcd ones...

It's not 100% the HU problem, there are antenna wiring, connectors, CAN-BUS system, and the HU itself... its a combo of mismatched components, thus the problem....

Waa...just a stupid radio also so much problems...sigh...but i think some other cars also has the same issue....right now, i use the China LCD HU for my Savvy, i think the reception is not as clear as my original Savvy HU...but it don't have this soft-loud problem.

I also complained to them about this... but... you also know how to say OLD ma... obsolete di.

If you notice old tuners cannot scan for stations so accurately, sometimes skipping some stations depending on which area you stopped your car to scan. Also the sound reproductions is not that crisp... This newer tech can detect a lot of stations when you scan and if reception is good, the sound quality is also good. So good that noise is also amplified... this is why some noise reduction feature is added in. Best way they found is to reduce volume instead of lagging the reception which may also not help.

Since munky's fren is in r&d for this, I'll let him comment his findings...

Why ur PRC LCD HU is not as clear and no soft/loud problem? Using old tech and cheaper tuner module lor.. makes sense doesn't it?

FYI, a lot of brands have moved their production or oem their products from PRC. Clarion retail units are also sourced from PRC. Only the OEM units which come with cars are manufactured in Penang. Yes, Clarion OEM manufacturing plant is in Penang, so pls dun laugh at the RM10 paper cone speaker, can anytime be better than PRC branded ones.

Unless you buy Alpine, Nakamichi or really high end HU, chances are the units are from PRC.

Hmmm...if I'm not mistaken, the previous Audi A6 (2005 model) has the same issue. And it's a Harmon Kardon system.

Its part of the HU on its board. Old tech uses a few components on the board.. now just 1 chip does the job. Sounds like downsizing... hehe... What a bunch of clerks do, now replaced by a computer, what a bunch or workers in assembly line do, now replaced by robots... More efficient but still has its down side, virus, breakdowns, etc...

Oh well...i'm starting to look for a scrap HU for me to dissect to see whats the issue... I have a few Jtags here...hopefully i have the matching ones....

But usually for inspira is the back 4 numbers, as the front 2 is still 00 as of now. maybe next year we'll use 5 number as reference liao...

MY SA let me test 3 cars, 2 is 8xxx and 1 is 3xxx. among the 3 cars, the 3xxx was the one in best condition. 1 of the 8xxx got creaking sound when i open the door, the other engine sound was very loud when started (rev wouldnt go down even after 1 min).

When u go see the car, make u sure u inspect properly including starting the car and going around with it....it doesn't matter what is ur chassis number, if its not up to ur satisfaction just reject the car...

Our testing took more than 3 hours lol...i went there at 5.30pm after work..we test and main main until 8 something at night....

Ur place is very very big proton centre, no wonder they provide u such a good service. smile.gif
We have no luck as u to try it out. sad.gif but just can check my car when I received.
So at the end u choose 3xxx model? u said both of 8xxx got problem, mine also 8xxx~ shocking.gif
hope I am lucky to get a good 1.

Say anyone tried using their handphone to receive their FM radio and then transmit via Bluetooth audio?? Maybe this can work also?

Its not really CRITICAL problem la....its just some minor assembly imperfections only...Just make sure u test thoroughly when you first get the car before signing off the checklist. Most importantly the car is up to your satisfaction. The SA let me check since we have time to kill, and got a few cars there since they are stocking up.
Its really up to your luck really. Don't worry abt it too much....when ur arrive...check it kao kao...otherwise ask ur SA to repair the part which u are not satisfied with.

I still waiting for my sahabat eon card to arrive though... rclxub.gif

Anyway, are you still able to make it for the july promo?

all depend on my luck later. I will follow the checklist check 1 by 1, if not satisfied only ask the boss repair for me.
I talk to the boss, but he very friendly compare to his worker. I make the order 2 weeks on 23th july.
He give me that offer, now he not say anything i assume I got the offer? Maybe tomorrow or wednesday can take the car i think. The car already at there, but I not going back. need to wait saturday only can back.

Dunno about Myvi but on Inspira it is the microphone when you pair ur BT phone to make calls. You can answer calls, redial last number on your phone or end call using the buttons on HU. It cannot access to your phonebook. Its good enough for me.

Of course lar, been making calls with it since day 1. In fact, i sort of got it working with VLINGO on my Android (voice recognition dialing)...haven't tested it fully...but i actually activated the VLINGO one day accidentally....maybe test again when i'm free.

NOOOOOOO......!!!!!

Unless you are WANT the audio quality to be way worst than the current HU.... no amount of fancy LCD touchscreen + GPS + DVD can compensate for the lousy audio quality....

Quite a few members have changed to those RM2K Dual Din Touchscreen GPS + DVD HU... that have fancy Mitsu logo when start-up... but mostly regret as the sound quality sucks compared to the Clarion HU....

Also, go to the ICE section and read QQMeng's feedback on the similar unit he recently installed... and he regretted it immediately.... coz u spend arnd RM2K for a lousy audio quality HU.... also, even Flyaudio sound quality is not on par with the current HU...

Think carefully, and think why you wanna change the HU??

EDIT:

Read his comment about the same china made HU that you are considering...!!!

You do realise that these are all unbranded China made HU wrapped in casing, right...??
