Hi, need to ask some question...
currently im on stock rom
Im planning to flash to litening custom rom using odin...
after i flash it to litening rom, if i want to send back for warranty, i just need to flash back to official firmware from http://www.samfirmware.com correct?

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

by flashing back to the firmware, i can send back for warranty claim without letting samsung ppl know i had flash to custom rom?
Thanks

You need to flash back stock firmware and reset your flash counter using a jig...

Not true ; but that is what most people will tell you so. If Samsung wants to know whether you have flash cook roms there are ways they can find out. This concept of flashing back stock rom to " cheat" Samsung is only a fallacy and makes one feel good about flashing hoping to make good later on when comes to claims

If you are really worried and paranoid about warranty , than I suggest you dont root and flash. If you do, be prepared you lose warranty claims and be mentally prepared to pay. If the technician do not bother to check - and provides you free warranty services , consider it a bonus. I have been talking about this many times - say I am lucky ( 5 times aleady) - I always got it done free even though my phones are rooted/flash with cook rom . I never even bother to unroot or flash back stock rom when I sent in my phones

You should test it too at other WiFi outlets to eliminate problem is due to phone
Did you reset your home wifi router and see whether any improvement

Thanks, for the reply, will try with other wifi router but i'm afraid it'll be the same.

Since there's no problem connecting with my laptops and ps3.

Tried setting the phone ip and gateway also din't solve it.

Hope it's just the router problem smile.gif

Thanks

Read this article ; the JIG only makes you happy looking at it visually. Again, another " cheat" method which does not really work

thanks for replying...another question, if i flash to the newer official firmware, does it consider breaking warranty policy? just want to know before actually doing it.

after flashing litening rom through odin, i just insert the usb jig to remove the warning sign and flash count correct? to revert back to stock, just flash official firmware using odin and insert usb jig again right? thanks for helping

Put it this way la , if your screen goes black or your hp wouldnt turn on , how will u be able to flash back anything ? If u r concern for your warranty , there is only 2 things u can do ....

1 - Check with Samsung if your warranty still valid after flashing unofficial rom
2 - Dont flash , dont root , save u the headache .... Besides , the phone is good enough on stock rom

As long as you are updating your rom through KIES it is consider as official firmware upgrade. If you download any of those so called official rom ( eg from samfirmware) - it is NOT considered official - warranty is VOID
Samsung has never allow official roms to be downloaded and flash through Odin
The JIG - refer to my post#1190 above ; read it and you will understand why it is another fallacy

try to install some widget and tell us what is your temperature, if 30-40 degree celcius, then normal. if you put it idle and it still hot then it may have problem, but since you said you are playing around, so cheer up.
