Just bought mine on Sat from Digital Mall for 2k Ori set. Moved from Desire to this, and man. SPEED. and also not worrying about app space.
The only problem is, I'm a themes for MIUI but SGS2 does not have an "official" support for SGS2. How? hahaha |

QUOTE(ventrilocks @ Aug 2 2011, 08:19 AM) yea that's a port and not official. The problem is it may not run as good. More buggy and the dev have to keep on fixing it, rendering troublesome if it's not fully functional. although everything works, it's more like bugs u know. FC' mostly. |

QUOTE(Lineage @ Aug 3 2011, 12:30 PM) After I did a simple reading..I found out there is an option to do that..you can have all the Samsung Apps if you didnt press "Skip Samsung Apps".. thanks bro Please check official thread at XDA.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1159920 Added on August 3, 2011, 12:47 pm QUOTE(Noobi3 @ Aug 3 2011, 12:38 PM) Please elaborate what do u mean by " problems comes with rooting " ? For what I understand , rooting only gives u full access to the phone including the system file which is by default locked and nothing else or no additional benefits . If u r talking about problems coz those files where altered after rooting , dun blame the root , blame the user Actually I was referring to MIUI in general and the limitation of HTC Desire. Had my ext4 crashing on me every other week also the ROM would somehow fails after a few week of usage. So based on my bad experience, maybe so that's why I said such. Just abit afraid now. Don't mind me. I'm not condemning rooting. so chillax This post has been edited by r47z: Aug 3 2011, 12:47 PM |

QUOTE(LuffyPSP @ Aug 3 2011, 12:48 PM) hi r47z, come come join us. DEsire has served us well. lol joining. I have SGS2 already, my Desire is at home. It serves as a so called development of my MIUI theme since it's not completed yet. SGS2 is worth the upgrade for sure. It's now my camera also since it takes awesome pictures. |

QUOTE(waveweaver @ Aug 5 2011, 12:27 PM) Flashing UNOFFICIAL firmware like KG3 and KG6 in theory is ILLEGAL already and therefore VOID your warranty :-) +1So, might as well do some rooting. Maybe you dont like custom rom and its understandable. But rooting wont harm your phone. Infact by rooting, you can download app like Titanium Backup and use it to freeze any apps (bloatware) that might slow your phone. This way your phone still stay stock BUT running much faster and your battery tahan much longer. My opinion only :-P I'm still on stock, am thinking of just rooting without flashing rom and freeze the bloatware apps or remove them. The BIG problem is, I'm on OS X and Odin does not run on OS X (Natively). I don't want to install MS on my OS X. Sucks that SGS2 does not support fastboot. ---Update I found that an app called Heimdall works on OS X. Anyone have used this before ? http://www.glassechidna.com.au/products/heimdall/ Official XDA thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1104826 This post has been edited by r47z: Aug 5 2011, 12:47 PM |

Anyway S2-ers. For updating firmware it must be done via kies and not OTA ?(please say OTA is available!)
