Hi all, I'm currently in dilemma, hope to get the right advise and answer from here. I'm thinking apply a credit card but I'm not using it often or consistently. I just want to take this as for petrol refilling and incase I do not have the cash on hand. So I'm preferred not paying the annual fees, which bank should be fit for my requirement?

p.a= Per Annual(Year)
& You need to use Your Credit Card minimum 12 times a Year to waive off the Annual Fee of Credit Card

HLB wise card does have some minimum requirements to meet in order to earn the 10% cash back, as follows:
"Note
The cash back will be calculated at the end of each calendar month. The cumulated cash back shall be credited monthly to the Principal Cardholder's account on the following calendar month and subject to maximum cash back of RM100 per month. 10% cash back is subject to a minimum of 10 retail transactions monthly (with a minimum of RM50 per transaction) in anything during the calendar month. For each switch of cash back category, a one-time maintenance service fee of RM10 will be charged at the point of maintenance. New category enrolment will be effective on the following calendar month. The Bonus Category of Mobile is not applicable to change."

1. You can always go settle your installment plan (partially or in full) and free up your available credit limit.
2. BSN and CIMB card any good? I guess you can answer yourself - for emergency cases, does it make any difference to you? Come to think of it, for emergency case, maybe better to get a non-Islamic card to ensure that your card will be accepted for any type of transactions anywhere on earth.
To All Newbies:

observe the above scenario, which is very common among us credit card users (including me) -

1. We all initially choose a card that can benefit us. In above example, the OCBC TMC was chosen because it offers 5% cash back for our expenses required for our daily survival, i.e. Petrol Dining, Groceries, Utilties Bills and Telco Bills.
2. But with free easy credit, we go buy stuff (that is not required for our daily survival) we otherwise would not with cash (as we will think twice before we go burn RM8K cash we are holding in our hands, example above massage chair).
3. 0% Installment Plan is not FREE money but a debt you need to repay.

Conclusion - most people with credit cards will end up spending more that those using cash to pay for stuff.

Once again, if you do not have savings and the cash to pay for stuff, DO NOT sign up for a credit card. And for those of you wanting to sign up for installment plan - click here and read my article 0% Installment Plan with Credit Card - It IS A Trap.

OCBC Ti

Dun get HLB Wise like someone said. The annual fee waiver at this point is still unknown. Plus its much more complicated to use compare to OCBC Ti

But keep in mind OCBC Ti max beneficial usage is only 1k for 5% CB or 5k for 1% CB
