QUOTE(xixiliaycp @ Sep 20 2012, 03:24 PM) 1. Annual Income: RM57,000 Get the OCBC Titanium MasterCard for your fixed expenses stated above and you will earn [ (RM200+RM200+RM150+RM130) x 5% + (RM150 Insurance + RM300 Shopping) x 1% ] = RM34 + RM4.50 = RM38.50 per month or RM462 cash back per year.2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: Must 3. Card required for: Petrol, Cash Back/Rebate Only, Overseas Transactions 4. Existing credit cards if any: Citibank AirAsia Mastercard & HSBC Gold Card 5. Preferred Bank or Considering CC from banks: UOB & OCBC 7. Fixed expenses per month with the card: Example RM150 for insurance, 200 petrol, RM200 groceries, RM150 Dining, RM130 Telco, and shopping RM300. You can also consider Maybankard 2 Cards if you can pump petrol, do your groceries on Saturdays and Sundays. Tell you what - if you have not been winning any contest from HSBC or not enough points to even offset the RM50 GST, cancel your HSBC and apply for this card haha. And if you want FREE Money up to RM300, go apply for Standard Chartered Bank Business Platinum online. This post has been edited by Gen-X: Sep 20 2012, 04:30 PM |

QUOTE(Gen-X @ Sep 19 2012, 04:02 PM) Can't go wrong with MBB 2 Card and OCBC TMC combination. you mean use MBB Visa card to buy GSC movie ticket online? Will they cut the price to half? If that so, it is really good then!Got card for you for movies? How much in total in spend a year at GSC for movie tickets. Lets, say you spend RM300 at GSC, with 10% cash back offered by MACH by Hong Leong Bank, that's only RM30 savings, can't even pay for the GST. So just use your existing card. However, if your MBB 2 is AMEX and Visa, good news for you, until 31 October you are entitle to Free Movie Ticket at GSC any class everyday when you book online with a Visa card. If your MBB 2 is a MasterCard, too bad. |

1. Annual Income: RM70k+-
2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: A Must 3. Card required for: Petrol, Cash Back/Rebate, 4. Existing credit cards if any: Nil. 5. Preferred Bank or Considering CC from banks: Maybank/CIMB or any other have lots of branches (area : klang valley) 6. Others: Never have one CC, first time 7. Estimated Spending per month with the card: minimum 250 on fuel + 150 dining + 50 movies i did read gen-x blog, and seems like maybank2card suit me best. mainly purpose for owning cc is for petrol (i use esso and sometime shell) and as a backup, in case i have no cash in hand. your thought? how did the cash rebate and treat point works? if i spend minimum 250 on fuel monthly, can this amount cover for the yearly GST? OCBC Titanium MasterCard : (RM250+RM150) x 5% + RM50 x 1% = RM20.50/month. Yearly RM246 - RM50GST = RM196 Maybankard 2 Cards - assuming that the place you dine and watch movie do not accept AMEX but petrol yes and you pump only on weekends. 1. Treats Points: Petrol RM250 x 5TP= 1250 TP/month. Dining and Movie with either Visa or MasterCard RM200 x 1TP = 200. Total TP = 1450/month or 17,400 TP. To offset GST, you need 10,000 TP (call Customer Service for redemption). Therefore you still have balance 7,400 TP carried forward. MBB TP are evergreen, i.e. no expiry. Assuming that 10,000 TP can get you RM50 cash voucher, the 7,400 TP is like worth RM37 2. 5% Cash Back on Saturday and Sunday. Petrol only = RM250 x 5% = RM12.50/month or RM150 per year. Add 1 and 2 = RM150 + RM37 (Balance TP equivalent after deduct GST) = RM187 < OCBC RM196 However, if the place you dine and watch movie accept AMEX, that's addition 4X TP or 9600 TP/year PLUS RM120/year cash back. Conclusion, you are right to go with MBB 2 Cards as you can earn much more compared to OCBC TMC. The 5% Cash Back earn from weekends spending wil be credited into your account. |

MasterCard do have many promotions during festive season at the malls, spend x amount and you can get free a gift.If you are thinking of getting the OCBC TMC later, then I guess go with Visa for now. |

QUOTE(maxgenesis @ Sep 24 2012, 11:11 PM) 1. Annual Income: RM36 000 You did not mention your spending pattern as stated in post#1; so. I will just assume petrol is your main expenses and OCBC TMC will do. The OCBC TMC is better than UOB One Card since it offers 5% cash back for Dining and Telco bills. Actually, OCBC TMC beats all categories of UOB One Card, that is if you don't hit the max cash back cap of RM50.2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: A Must 3. Card required for: [Important] Petrol, Cash Back/Rebate Only, Movies, Dinning, Shopping, Online bills (insurance and telco) [Not so important] Education (buying books) , Air tickets, booking hotels 4. Thanks. Click here to my article on Mach credit card where I have prepared a table to compare the cash back one can earn with different credit cards. Use the table as a guide and go do a calculation yourself based on your spending pattern to find out which card earns you most cash back. This post has been edited by Gen-X: Sep 24 2012, 11:32 PM |

QUOTE(maxgenesis @ Sep 24 2012, 11:39 PM) oh im sorry: 2 cards is not a lot. OK maybe 3 because Maybankard2Gold Card has two cards - MasterCard/VISA + AmEx.my spending mainly= petrol = 300, dining = 150, telco = 180, insurance = 300, groceries = 200, movies = 50, shopping = 300 roughly this what i spend per month or maybe less (on movie, shopping and groceries) a lot people said, including you that mbb 2 card is good... also got ppl said mbb + ocbc combination is the best... but i dont want to carry so many cards... you recommend me mach by HL bank, but compare to mbb n ocbc.. how? i still reading you article. vry good but kinda long.. so if you can summarize and recommend which is suitable for me. thanks bro. My vote still goes to MBB2Card + OCBC Ti, I'm using that combo and no regret. Other cards? No intention to apply at all. Maybe thinking to get HLB MACH for movie only. |

QUOTE(maxgenesis @ Sep 24 2012, 11:39 PM) oh im sorry: haha, Bro, I asked you to refer to the table on my article lah, not recommending the unless for Petrol MACH card my spending mainly= petrol = 300, dining = 150, telco = 180, insurance = 300, groceries = 200, movies = 50, shopping = 300 roughly this what i spend per month or maybe less (on movie, shopping and groceries) a lot people said, including you that mbb 2 card is good... also got ppl said mbb + ocbc combination is the best... but i dont want to carry so many cards... you recommend me mach by HL bank, but compare to mbb n ocbc.. how? i still reading you article. vry good but kinda long.. so if you can summarize and recommend which is suitable for me. thanks bro. yah, with your spending pattern, looks like you need more than OCBC TMC since it is reaching the maximum cap of RM50. Petrol+Dining+Telco + groceries = RM830 x 5% =RM41.50 Movies + Shopping + Insurance = RM650 = RM6.50 TOTAL = RM48 So let Fruitie said, go get both MBB 2 AMEX and OCBC TMC. On weekends use AMEX and earn Treats Points too which can use to offset GST Also recomend you read my article My Credit Cards offer Exclusive Discount for Agoda Online Hotel Room Reservations and this thread post #1168 onwards for hotel booking. Ocbc Titanium + Mbb2 cards will be the best card combination by now if you looking for more than 1 card. Else, Ocbc Titanium will having 5% cashback for your food and also cigra if purchase from hypermarket. Home loan are not payable through credit card. |
