QUOTE(hyperyouth_firepower @ Aug 24 2011, 09:32 AM) I can't really say that Henderson performed badly. Though in truth we've got the same playmakers of Meireles and Suarez that thrashed Manchester United (and made their defenders look like dolls) the thing is that if you look at it sublimely, Henderson managed a convincingly acceptable amount of passes, even if he may be positioned-wrongly (having a football brain that isn't settled) I have to agree with you that we're up for more fluid footballing games with our current squad. Direct long ball, possession short pass, set piece threats and going wide with wings or full backs, these are some of the tactical options KD can apply. Even though, the "pass and move" is not doing as swiftly as we want it to be, but I guess that can only improve in times when players are getting more familiar with each others plays in the training ground.assuming we're playing with a 4def 2dcm/cm then Adam + Lucas pairing should work, although I'll say Adam is a suspect when reading the defensive game. However, somebody did mentioned that in the game against Arsenal, Adam + Lucas combined completed 50% of the tackles as well as a respectable 41% of interceptions (we're talking about Arsenal here who's playing the pass and move model for many successive games now) so I guess that assuming the remainder are done in within the defensive area, we've managed to pull off an impressive stat markers over previous performances over Arsenal in their home turf. In regards to Aquilani, I won't want to mention much since he's still not yet featured, although I suspect in the event he did, we'll have to revamp the entire midfield formation to a diamond-strategy to suit Aquilani's most effective role which he played with much success during his loan spell. Though if you ask me, KD is showing that he's got something up in his plans but he's not sure whether it works or not. As long as we're not playing a "false nine" (like how Manchester United does) or Barcelona I think we're in for a more fluid footballing games one box to another. One more thing I really like about KD is how he manages expectations. He gives credit where it's due (even if it's the opposition), thus keep the players & fans grounded. |

IMHO, Henderson will be a good player given a season or two with more games. He may not pass the ball forward forward as much as we like but if you noticed, he seldom miss his passes and plays a more patient football passing the ball back the our own half and try initiate another attack. He is very calm and collected for a player his age. I do agree however, that he needs to be a little more aggressive when it comes to attacking.

Liverpool made a formal written bid to Nacional on Monday.
Talks are still on-going but Nacional vice president Hector Olmes said: 'The offer (from Liverpool) is very good. Coates will surely go to Liverpool.' Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/...l#ixzz1VunZqQLU This post has been edited by solstice818: Aug 24 2011, 11:54 AM |

Yeah guys, chill out and ignore the trolls laughing about Carroll and Henderson's price tag. They are young English internationals and they have age on their side to learn and become stronger every year.
See how we bashed Lucas and N'gog few seasons earlier? They have improved tremendously since then...lol. If I told you 4-5 years ago, nobody will believe that Lucas Leiva will be a regular starter and year 10/11 LFC player of the season. Like Kenny said, only time will tell. As long as they keep their discipline and work hard in training, they can easily become starters for our team, and maybe even England. |

QUOTE(e30 @ Aug 24 2011, 02:48 AM) Players like soto stood up during the tough times and gave his all.I'll never slate people like soto, kuyt or ngog because they give their all although they are limited. But not maxi.Doesnt do anything decent worthwhile and all of a sudden given a hero's reception. Before any of you start by saying that who else decent is gonna be willing to sit on the bench, let me ask will you be happy taking 40-60k for doing nothing everyweek?i rather let players like sterling or suso be on the bench. |

QUOTE(Rotuham @ Aug 24 2011, 12:58 PM) Ah,you have your opinion and i have mine.I just dont think he has what is needed to play left wing or right wing.He scores two hattricks and suddenly he is the best player in everyone's eyes.Question: Where was he when we were playing badly or needed a goal? If you happen to go through some of the Liverpool training & tour pictures/videos. You know that Suarez, Maxi and Lucas are bonding very closely and 3 of their family often gather together. That's a very healthy and happy relationship to have. Players like soto stood up during the tough times and gave his all.I'll never slate people like soto, kuyt or ngog because they give their all although they are limited. It's no coincidence that Suarez is able lay some passes for Maxi to scores, though he's aging and most probably declining in terms of fitness and skills, but his movement in the box that put him in scoring position is quite good. I definitely like him to stay just to keep the positive bonding going. |

First of all, I dun think many of us here acknowledge maxi as the best player or hero. Most of us here just saying is a decent for backup.Players like soto stood up during the tough times and gave his all.I'll never slate people like soto, kuyt or ngog because they give their all although they are limited. Then mind I ask you, do Liverpool currently has anymore backup winger type of player with decent quality? As far as I know, only downing is a proper winger type of player in current liverpool squad......I know kuyt can play as right winger, but seriously he is not a winger where every1 already acknowledge it..... and from your that bold phrase, it seems like you are assuming maxi himself refuse to play and rather to sit on the bench.....IT was KD who give him that role and he accept it without complaint....So u wish maxi to do something like babel, benayoun or riera?(that keep on moan to the media about how unhappy he is sitting on the bench?) |

Well , I got a question..* touchwood ...if Downing and Kuyt get injured , who gonna replace them on wing?If you watch highlights against Fulham , his first 2 goals come from his excellent running into the space.Players like soto stood up during the tough times and gave his all.I'll never slate people like soto, kuyt or ngog because they give their all although they are limited. Beside Dirk Kuyt (striker) , Henderson (central midfield) , Meireles (central midfield) , we dont have anyone that can play on right wing. |

in maxi case, i guess experience.. tho he did not play a lot but i feel KD is comfortable with him. unless there's really an offer from somewhere for maxi.. nevertheless his attitude is different from other ranters before.. he gives his commitment and i believe the harmony of south american group in liverpool makes him happy there..

Dalglish demands Carling Cup win
QUOTE "This time last year there was a lot of disappointment because the club hadn't started so well," Dalglish said. In my opinion I think its always god to have a strong bench, tats they key of sucess... All the successful teams doesn't just rely on the first 11/15 but its the first 18.. By having experience players like Maxi its always gud n I will definitely choose Max ahead of Sterling and Suso to come in at the end of the game and contribute something.. Sterling n Suso seem to be gud but I don't think there r there yet.. If u were to see barca previously, they got rid of older unperforming players like ronaldinho and eto. They always gave chance for their youth.Even xavi replaced pep guardiola as midfielder although he was young.even we replaced fowler with owen although owen was still young. Messi started playing for barca since 17-18 years and beckham for mu at 17.If we are to build a team that will challenge for honours and dominate we must introduce these young kids.Luckily KD is not afraid to play youngsters. |

Sebastian Coates has been signed, sealed and delivered to Anfield. For a fee of less than half the price of Phil Jones the Merseysiders have bagged themselves twice the player. the bolded part is the best! |
