I come from a younger generation of Liverpool supporters. Started watching Arsenal back then because of Seaman and their beautiful football. My friends were all MU fans cause of Beckham and I often got picked on cause of that and that contributed to why I don't support MU.
My big bro was a Liverpool supporter so I didn't have much choice when it came to watching football on tv back then. I used to dread the times when I was forced to watch Liverpool instead of Arsenal, but things change dramatically when I first saw Owen and then Gerrard in 98. Been a Liverpool supporter ever since then.
Note: I still support Owen despite him playing for MU.

QUOTE(solstice818 @ Jul 20 2011, 04:55 PM) Yes, Pachecho I think deserve a chance to play. Would be happy if he were given a chance to improve like Lucas did when he was still shitty. BTW, Sols did you go for Chelsea's training to see Torres?

QUOTE(solstice818 @ Jul 20 2011, 05:21 PM) Nope. I wasn't around for Liverpool match. Would be damn guilty if I went all the way to Chelsea training just to see Torres. Anyway, I still outstation now.So cant make it anyway Ohhh.... I had 50 free Chelsea training passes to give out. Was thinking to give you one since you're Torres fan.

QUOTE(solstice818 @ Jul 20 2011, 05:48 PM) Wow. When was the training? Try ask around. I think a lot of people would like to take that. Training was yesterday though, I had it with me on last Thursday. First day already gave out 20 passes, 2nd day a few of my photographer friends wanted a few, 3rd day another 10 - 15 friends of my colleague, then on the Monday all given out...zzz How many actually made it to the training is another question.

Sigh.... Heartbroken seeing Gerrard suffer one after another injury... I do hope all this time out of the field will weaken his game and him retiring earlier than he should..

You missed out on Carra being motivated, committed, experienced, and has the ability to read the game better than most CB in the BPL. He may lack pace and technical ability but his defending is no nonsense and he gets the job done. He is still one of the best around and I see him playing for another 2 - 3 years at least. Its players like him we need in the team.

Aquilani my man of the match for all the pre-season friendlies. You can see the impact he has on the team. I hope they don't offload him. The long shots remind me of Gerrard.

QUOTE(vreis @ Aug 4 2011, 02:43 PM) How I wish he concentrates on his club instead of keep justifying his reasons to go http://www.clickliverpool.com/sport/liv...-torres.htmlSometimes you can't blame him, the media will always ask him questions like this "why did you leave Liverpool?" "What made you want to leave Liverpool?" "Do you regret leaving Liverpool for Chelsea?" Obviously, when they get answers from Torres it will be exaggerated and some parts missing. This way they generate readers by riling up the Liverpool supporters.

So the reason why we have so many players now is we are getting prepared for Champions League football yes?

I hope Aquilani will be fielded in the Arsenal game, he deserves the chance he never had.

I'd like to see KD Field Jack Robinson against Walcott this Saturday. Remember the debut he had at the Emirates stadium? He really shut the Arsenal fans up. That kid has a nerve of steel. I prefer him than rather than Flanno.

QUOTE(leftist @ Aug 16 2011, 11:20 AM) even if its a few seconds it wont change anything Technically speaking yes, under Rafa he made his debut but it was during last season's game we saw his true potential. Not to say that I'd not prefer Jose Enrique, but I really like that kid. He has focus that not even the senior players have. This post has been edited by chenwfng: Aug 16 2011, 11:37 AM

QUOTE(mercury8400 @ Aug 23 2011, 01:28 PM) I disagree to the fullest extent on your comment. English players don't have the skill and flair of European counterparts but it's their determination, heart and never say die attitude is what KD is looking for. I have watched EPL and Liverpool for >20 years and I can clearly see the English players commitment to the game when they play they play their hearts out. Last couple of season (during the Benitez era) Liverpool struggle for someone (Stevie G and J Carragher aside) to take the game by the scruff of the neck to the opponents and inspire the team of foreigners to play better. Stevie G is one of them but unfortunately he is in and out of injury. So hopefully with Henderson, Adams (although technically he's Scottish) and Downing, we have people who can take the lead and inspire foreigners to perform better especially when we are trailing. Would like to disagree on the bold sentence. Determination, heart and never say die attitude comes from within, not from being English or not.

IMHO, Henderson will be a good player given a season or two with more games. He may not pass the ball forward forward as much as we like but if you noticed, he seldom miss his passes and plays a more patient football passing the ball back the our own half and try initiate another attack. He is very calm and collected for a player his age. I do agree however, that he needs to be a little more aggressive when it comes to attacking.

Good squad depth. I admit I was a bit puzzled by the traffic in CAM and CM that King Kenny brought upon us. He foresaw rebuilding of the team comes with great amount of CM and CAM. Maxi may not be the best but he certainly has good position and an eye for goal. Count the times he had already scored from pre season till now. I hope he will prove the doubters wrong.
