Got a slightly crazy question to ask you guys.

I'll be building up my workstation soon and was wondering if it will be possible to dual boot a mac os and windows 7 with an overclocked processor and graphics card?

I think my components are hackintoshable. Just a question on the overclocked components part. haha.

AFAIK, overclocked done by the OS, so if you Turboboost your i7 machine, they only work on the mac.

Once you bootcamp to W7 then the CPU will be clocked back to the original, so you need to do it with windows overclocking software.

Unless all the OSes run in parallel desktop

You can try virtualbox. It support certain version of OSX. You should be able to get more information in virtualbox site.

base on my own experience i think it depends on how overclock the cpu and gpu are. sometimes it will be unstable and might cause kernel panic. however a slight overclock should not be a problem smile.gif

Hi Guys,

I have problem here.

I have 3 hhd

Hackintosh hhd for MAC OS
Windows hhd for WIN
DATA hhd for data so i can view in both mac os and win

My problem is that file or folder that i created in mac os and store it in DATA hdd was unable to view in win.

DATA hhd (NTFS)
I was able to read/write NTFS format in my mac os

In WIN whn i open up my DATA hhd it show empty.

DOES anyone face this problem?

HOW do you guys share data between your mac os and win?

MacOSX can reliably read/write FAT32. So best to create a FAT32 partiton in your third drive if you want to share your files across. There is a limitation though, you can't have > 4gb per file. Another is by formatting the 3rd hdd into ntfs and install a third party driver on Mac to read/write into the hdd.

I have my 3rd hdd which is my DATA hdd in ntfs format. And i install the 3rd party driver on my mac os.

The file which i copy in to DATA hdd in mac os can only view in mac os.

When i boot into win to view that file the DATA hdd just show empty hdd. Even the capacity in not decreasing. I even try to show hidden file also nothing.

hi, i am new in hacktonish....i have done some research and study on this..
here are questions....pls give me some advice.
i owned a DELL Inspiron N4110...technically my laptop is compatible with hacktonish os x 10.8.2....however when i doing the research i found that wifi is not working on most of the laptop....in order to use wifi we have to use USB wifi dongle.
Does the wifi works in my laptop when i install the hacktonish?

thank you for your time =)

wifi will never work natively for all Dell laptop. You need to swap the wifi card with compatible wifi card or use wifi dongle.

Corsair DDR3 1333MHz 4GB x2
Sapphire HD5870 1GB GDDR5
Creative X-Fi Titanium
Intel 520 ssd for OS X and WD Caviar black for windows

i will be coming up with a short guide for the ppl who have the same specs as i do.
plus, you can try paragon HFS+ (for windows) to enable windows to read/write on HFS+ (journaled) devices
